Dadgommit....why?!!! WHY?!!!! I don't have the time...Is this all you guys do? Come on,...give me a break!

ok....

I'm in.[8D]....I guess....

What's the rules?

RE: five spot league....

So who is going to run this thing? Matt (Rick James) has certainly done his work for the year. Also, some people complained about the 45 arrows needed for the Vegas league. Are they going to go for a 60 shot tourney, or do we need to drop that a bit?

RuttNutt 02-21-2008 10:19 AM

RE: five spot league....

Just throwin' this out there. We could do 30 arrows, two times a week for a total of 60{a 300 round}... That would make it easy for some guys to shoot on there lunch break and you would get to shoot twice a week for your score.

So you still shoot and post one weekly score for the 300 round, but you are allowed to split it into two 30 arrows sessions if you want?

That sounds fine to me.

RE: five spot league....

yup, that's it. I think it would make it alot easier for some of you guy's that are pressed for time. I vote for RJ to run the show again if he's up to it..

Gundeck 02-21-2008 08:28 PM

RE: five spot league....

I don't know if it is fair to ask him to run the show twice in a row. If you want a break, Matt, I would be willing the throw the numbers together each week.

RuttNutt 02-21-2008 08:35 PM

RE: five spot league....

well he said to let him know if we wanted to put something together so I just threw it out there. I vote for anyone who wants to take on the task..:D

RE: five spot league....

Guys, I'll definitely run the contest again because it's much easier since I have the superpowerz to sticky/unsticky and lock things up. Unfortunately though I won't be shooting in itbecause I honestly don't have an extranight in the week to get to the range right now outside of my current local 450 vegas league, my night working at the shop, and 55+ hours a week at work. If I can manage to squeeze in a game here and there I'll post but I probably won't participate.

Let's get some more folks signed up!

How about a 4 week league, and you can shoot 30 arrows at a time. It would be MUCH easier though if you only turned in one score at the end of the week for the entire score, rather than 2x scores for me to tally (doubling the work). I would ask that the scores be posted in the following format:

END SCORE X's
1 255
2 254
3 252
4 255
5 254
6 253
7 254
8 253
9 255
10 255
11 255
12 255

I'll play, and thanks for voulunteering your time once again Matt. Anyone can see how pressed for time you are, and we really appreciate it.

Will you start another thread for offical sign up, or are we just using this one?

RE: five spot league discussion and planning

Guys, let's use this thread as a discussion and planning thread for the league. I'll start up a sign up thread and sticky it, as well as drop a note in the general bowhunting forum to hopefully direct some traffic our way. I'm headed out to Vegas tomorrow for work (and to watch the pro shoot off [8D]) and will have some hotel time to get a rules post written up and stickied as well.

How long do we want this one to run?

Rick James 02-22-2008 06:18 AM

RE: five spot league discussion and planning

Just because of my observations with last years second league, I think it's gotta be a shorter format. I'd suggest 4 weeks, with the league starting on 3/2. This will get most guys done before turkey season starts, and outdoor 3D starts......otherwise there is going to be some massive drop off.

Gundeck 02-22-2008 06:22 AM

RE: five spot league discussion and planning

Thanks for coming through again, Matt. Looking forward to it.

mobow 02-22-2008 06:27 AM

RE: five spot league discussion and planning

I agree 100%, Matt.....if it were going to be any longer than 4 weeks, I wasn't in......but...I think I may do this one, why not.....

RE: five spot league discussion and planning

guys I would love to, but here in Alabama, the opener of turkey season is March 15. I will be taking some youth from my church out for the youth hunt on March 8-9. That means that my wife will divorce me if I'm turkey hunting and shooting like crazy.

It was a lot of fun to shoot the 3 spot. I would be really interested in shooting the 5 spot after turkey season!

I'm already shooting 2 60 rounds a week.
Is it ok turn in my score from the local league shoot?.
If so, when do we start?

Sure - use your league score. No problem.

Count me in guys. It will help me get used to this new thumb trigger release.

One question can you shoot three arrows at a time? or do yyou have to shoot 5?

And are there going to be different classes?

RJ...Does a vegas target's rings match up with the 5 spot at all?

Like maybe the yellow is equal to the 5 ring and the entire 10 ring is the X?? I dunno, should be close mayeb the vegas is a bit smaller. anyone got both and can measure?

The reason I ask is my Vegas league still has 5 weeks left. Like you, there is no way I can shoot another type league..

GR8atta2d 02-25-2008 11:03 AM

RE: five spot league discussion and planning

In addition to the above question...when is it planning to start? I'm on the fence, I want to shoot..it's just finding the time!

RE: five spot league discussion and planning

Bob, I don't see no problem with you using your vegas scores changing 10's to X and 9's for 5's and so on for this league, its just for fun and practice.
You would need to get 15 more arrows in for a 300 score, but you know that.
I would give Matt a PM, I dont think he caught your posts earlier.
It's going to start on the 2nd so I take it are first score will be turned inon the 9th?

RE: five spot league discussion and planning

Thanks SF..IT does measure pretty close I may be screwing myself a bit on the 5 ring but not much. Plus I am in a 600 vegas league so already shooting 60 ;)
