Jeff..I'll ask you here rather than PM so maybe some others can join in or make recommendations.
What kinda release you shooting? I'm still shooting my original Tru-ball Caliper style release. I love it but from reading some of the posts. Perhaps this is holding me back for paper punching. I've never shot anything else...well thats not entirelytrue I once tried a release that you held the trigger in and let it go to shoot...I'm not sure if that arrow has ever been found..

Sorry I didn't see this.
Well....the "Oprah" version is....I noticed most all peopel who took target archery seriously were shooting either a thumb trigger release or a BT release (Or...I've found out...a combination of the two). I asked around (the usual suspects) and I settled on a Carter Just Cuz...based on their recommendations. I tried to find a used one....but was anxious and bought a new one.
VERY Shakey to start with. I've been shooting BB shots for a while now (2weeks???) and honestly Saturday's 3D round was the FIRST time it's felt "normal". Im trying to get a lot of shots off with it right now. I'm shooting 1 450 10yd vegas....our league (HNI) vegas 450....20 BB shots a night and 3D on the weekends. All that....and Saturday was the very first time it felt good (the new release).
I hope that answers your question.

And if you're feeling REALLY froggy try a true BT release.
This is the one I'm shooting
I switched to this from a Carter Insatiable. I just wasn't as consistant as I wanted to be with the Carter. I'm wanting to either get a Tru-Ball ST-3 or a Spott Hogg Friday Night Delight, just to play with and hunt with.

Well I just shot my first comeback round at 8 yards (what I can get in my apartment here at school). Ended up with a 446 28X...Still had some shots where I had to let down a regroup my thoughts and defeat the target panic demons and a few the I let get away a little but 4 bad shots out of 45 is a good start right now. I think I'll hold off on another short game for another week or so and don't plan going to 20 yards until I can shoot 300's with no problems. Gonna be a long road.
