I went in and did the last prep on one of my spots last night. Changed out a ratchet strap on a stand, checked shooting lanes, put out some mineral, and hung two of my homebrew trailcams. In this particular setup I have 4 treestands in about a 4 acre spot. It is a dense stand of trees that is a funnel between some bedding areas and 160 acres of irrigated alfalfa. Even though very small, it is a great spot. The four stands allow me to hunt basically any wind I want to, and keep things rotated. Five weeks untill season starts here.

Update:
Just got my new (used-ebay) recurve in the mail today! My son has afootball scrimmage tonight so I can't test it today, but maybe tomorrow. I am excited to have it in, really been looking forward to trying traditional. Maybe I can at least smoke a doe with it this year.

I am going to try for a 150 or better this year.
Now, don't get all excited. Contrary to what the TV shows try to convince you. There isn't a 180 behind every tree in Iowa.
