Well I had a decent weekend. Friday night I drove mach 90 to get home and hunt and I'm very glad I did.
I got situated with my boss buck decoy 20 yards in front of me, whom I named Buck Owens. about 5:30 a few does came out down the field, bout 250 yards away. 5:45 a nice buck comes out and starts pushin em around. throw up the binocs and see what looks to be bout a 140er. So I hit the grunter and he puts up his head starts coming in. gets to bout 175 yards and stops. hes staring down the decoy for 5 minutes, so I hit the grunter again and snort wheeze. the buck trots to bout 100 yards and freezes again. stares at the decoy for another 5 minutes and walks off the field.
Shortly after more does came out and I had a really nice young 8 point that will go close to 125 walk by my decoy. I look down the field and see a big deer come out of the brush. BIG! is the first thing I think. he was 150+ but it was so dark it wasnt worth grunting at him. So needless to say no buck but it was nice to see a couple shooters.

I also got a few pics of bucks on the deer cam from a scrape on a different field. I also got a half dozen of my grandpa going by on his Bad Boy Buggy

Sounds like a good time Ryan. Things are heating up. I'm taking time off next week for a little BP hunting but I'm taking my bow with me. If I put a good one down I'll switch back to bow.

Well I searched until 2:00 AM last night, I have no idea where this deer went[&:] Funny thing is when people canno find deer in the area they call me, and I find them.

From what I can tell, she got pushed out of her bed. I think she went into the river, I search the bank last night, nothing[:@] At this point it's a lost, even if I find her the meat is bad.

They did[&:] I am guess I walked by her 30 times when looking for her. The CRP is just to thick, she was pretty ate up, but last night I found what was left of her.

Sad day, first time in my life I said I am sorry, for killing a deer.[X(]

Do any of you ever get those gut feelings? Man, I feel like some bucks are going to "get some" this weekend! Let go team! Everyone get out there!

Well, how did we do? I bagged a S. Dakota flattop Saturday evening (picture below), and I had an eight dancing with me. He just wouldn't give me a shot. Anybody else?

Man I picked the wrong weekend to take a few extra days off. luckily I'll take a three day-er this weekend too. I didn't see a whole lot for what I thought was gonna be a good weekend. I guess it was decent but not what I expected. lots of little bucks and does and fawns but all the big ones, actually most of the deer are all coming out at night, so I don't understand whats going on. people everywhere are saying the same thing... its slow! oh well could've been worse, I coulda been shopping
