Now I know what the Chicago Bulls used to feel like - as the preseason would begin to heat up, and every other team in the league had delusions of grandeur, thinking and believing that they can win.

Think again.
As a matter of fact, I wasjust checking myselfout in the bathroom mirror when I realized that I look a little bit like Scottie Pippen - just a little bit shorter and whiter. Maybe ashade less coordinated.

Helllllooooooooo Fellow Champions!
Can we do it again? I think so. I have to say though that my scouting so far has convinced me that this past winter was very hard on our local deer population. In three trips, I've seen 2 does with fawns, and one fawn without a mama. I did see a 6-8 point on my property a few nights ago, but it's the first one I've seen this whole year.
I've got acorns out the wazoo, something we didn't have last year, I'm looking now for sign to point out good stand placement. Historically I know of two trees (white oaks) that the deer have ALWAYS come to almost daily so there's at least an easy doe for the freezer.
I need more time to scout, but I just haven't had it so far. The best news for me, is that after the baby buck I got last year, for me there's no way to gobut UP!

What's happening Marty?! Long time no see, buddy. Good to have you back.
I hear ya on the lacking buck quality so far, but it only takes one. You're a hell of a whitetail hunter, buddy - don't forget that. You'll produce. I'm 100% confident. I'm also kinda stuck in a crappy situation on my end - I'm spending all kinds of time scouting SW PA in my spare time - but I won't even be hunting there much, if at all. Instead, I'm focusing my efforts 100% in SE Ohio, where I haven't been since spring.
Here are some PA deer that I've filmed so far this year, just to remind you that they're still out there.

I can't hunt all those bucks -but some of them, I can.
Do you do a lot of spotting, or just scouting during the daylight hours?
Things will probably be a little slow on our team thread here for a little while, b/c Dan is traveling and Al is hunting bears for the rest of the week.
