Fran I feel bad that I didn't have my phone on last night. Find the arrow, if it's still in him theres a good chance he's dead. With your arrow wraps it should be pretty easy to find. I wish you the best of luck in the recovery you deserve this deer he's there just find him. If I was in the area you know I would be out there for you.Good luck

Good luck Fran! Keep at it, but if you can't find him and think you hit him high, there is a good chance he made it.

Here's a few pics from my trail cams.... Think we are looking at 2 seperate bucks maybe - hard to tell. That one has the cheater off the G2, which is fairly easy to spot...

First of all nice bucks. I would say 2 bucks. I hope you get on 1 of those.

This is the first time in years I'll be home to rake leaves in years.[:@]I hire 1 of the neighbor kids but the wife layed the hammer down.I have no excuse to get out of it.

Fran I'm hoping for good news.

Mike any good sightings?

Daniel long time no hear.

Hope things work out Fran, that really sucks. I know that you will exhaust every option before giving up.

The weather is killing me as far as good hunting. It has rained every week on my days off which has slowed the hunting down and the corn harvest has not even started here! I have logged about 25 hours of stand time and have seen ZERO deer! I have to work the next 4 days and then have 10 days off for hunting so hopefully things look up. This should put me into the rut so hopefully I can use some scent.

I did get to hunt the new place that I got permission on finally. After sitting there about an hour I see another hunter getting into his stand on the property to the north which was no big deal. Then the owners of the property to the east drive onto their land about sunset and get out of the pickup and start talking loud enough I can hear them from about 300 yards away! So, I just sat there until dark and got down without seeing anything again.

Whats up gents.. finally got the score put up. Although I probably screwed it up since I did it in like 2 minutes while the wife was yelling at me to come in for dinner. 111ish is what I gots.. with the 3 broken tines. But they wouldn't have pushed him too far anyway. (but i think i shorted the main beams since they were my last measurement).[&:]

Nice bucks Jas.. I'd be after either one.

Sorry to hear the news Fran.. but you still got plenty of time and your still you. You'll get it done.

Dan 2.. don't fret.. it's a long season. You'll get on one soon.

Al.. hows New York treating you. Congrats on the doe by the way.

Dano.. was 45 yrds from a 160 this weekend.. but I made a costly error in judgement.

Funny year for me. I passed a 2 yr old that will go 125ish.. a 3 yr old that would go 140ish.. and I took a 110 inch 4 yr old swamp critter. Kinda makes me laugh.. but its always been my way.

I'm going after the old man this weekend. The 6 yr old I've only been able to hunt 1 day so far. If I get the good wind I'm going into his bedroom again. I'm onto him and right on his hooves (i can feel it).. I hope to give a happy update Saturday morning.

Good luck everyone. Let's take some more down.

Mike- I love NY, i just wish there were more big deer here.[8D]

Sat this morning in the first snowfall of the season, had about 2-3 inches on the ground, I was pumped man. All I sawwas areal tall4 pt, and a yearling doe, it was snowing pretty hard and with the front comming in, I had a strange north wind, which limited my stand selection. I need to get my climber out of the garage. Im still taking it easy right now, trying not to get too burned out and behind inmy work before the going gets good. When it does get good, i'll be out there full time, 5 days a week, fo sho.

Im having a little issue finding my bucks right now. There are some new fields planted with corn this year that havnt been turned over in decades, and I think its really altering the patterns that I just figured out last year. [:@] I really outta get a pic up here so you deer geniousescan figure itout for me, remeber, im only 4 years in, still a little green.

Al-I'll help in any way.

Mike-what was the costly error?

I was talking to my taxi's husband Monday night he hunts 2 weeks out of the year. He always tells me he shoots 150" deer. He told me he would like to shoot the # 1 Wisconsin deer some year. So smart A** me say's you have to stop shooting the 150's and wait for something bigger. He took me into his back room and pow 20 bucks ranging from 150" to 179" I'm like wtf. He is a modest guy who is tring to run a small achery shop. He said he doesn't tell that many people because he doesn't want to come off arogant.

I picked his brain a bit and found out how he does it. Grant it he might see sign and intrupet it differantly but I'm going to give it a shot next week when I take the wife out. I'm going to video any bucks I might see and hopefully learn something for next year.
