Season started yesterday for plains archery here in Colorado. I was planning to hunt just the weekend, but the draw of the wild got the best of me and I'm going to make it a 4 day hunt starting tomorrow morning.

wallhangr - I agree - too many irons in the fire for something to not hit the ground this weekend!

I will be down south for a part of the weekend - but will not be out hunting - too many other things going on right now (besides, I still have to to get all my clothessorted and sent free).

Best of luck to everyone - and be safe!!!

I am happy to hear everyone is planning on getting out! It is definitely an exciting time when the season opens up. I am going to be heading out in the morning. I'd like to put a couple does on the ground during the next few weeks so that I can concentrate on tagging a buck when the rut starts.

Good luck to everyone! I'll check in when I get home in the morning.

So close to gettin me a doe this morning....AH!!!

I had a small window and she was one step away from being in the clear.....she decided to walk towards me instead of past me.....what are the chances of her taking the path with only one window!!!??? lol

Tomorrow is another day!

It sounds like it will happen anytime now Jenna.

I went out this morning and the only deer I saw was a 2.5 yr. old 8 pt. I may have a moment of weakness and make him my first recurve buck if he makes a habit out of hanging around my stand. I checked out the new place after my hunt this morning. It is very small, but it has potential. It is adjacent to a large track of woods and the deer are using it as a "thoroughfare" . I am going to play the wind, hunt it lightly and see what shows. You never know what could show up and new places are always exciting.

I hope the rest of you have a great weekend and good luck hunting.

Brett - I have toyed with hunting with the recurve, but have not taken or made the time to get it (actually me) hunting ready! - I keep saying next year!

Best of luck

Well, It turned out to be a very good weekend, I was able to arrow 2 does, and had a nice wide 6 point stalking just out of range. At leastI have my EAB requirement out of the way.
Good luck to everyone else.

Rick
