My 06' year found me with way too large of expectations. I hunted my tail off and had many opportunities on what i would call a small buck. Come mid Nov. I told my wife that i had been really patient and that soon something big would come by, she said,"I think i have been really patient too!" I took that response to heart and shot the next buck that came by. He's a great buck!, and a 9 pointer.

My 07' season was looking just awesome, I had some new property to hunt and one evening while scouting from the road i saw a super nice 10 pointer. I set up camp on that location and hunted from Oct. 1 thru the end of the season. I saw that great 10 one evening and believe it or not, i let him walk, there was an even larger buck behind him, I had used the "Buck Growl" and it seemed to work because the 10 came from over 200 yards away with the big boy in tow. they were grazing across a soybean field, that 10 was less than 20 yards with the big one at 50+. he never got any closer, i spent the rest of the season telling myself if i had the chance for either one i would take it. I saw them 3 more times but never got closer than 60 yards. to my knowledge, neither buck was killed during rifle season and i never saw them after that. This year, i'm hoping to cash in on one or the other.

My son killed a nice Doe in 06', his first. I had asked him if he wanted to wait for a buck, He said, nope, i want to shoot something. the kid cracks me up.

This is a link to our Inn here in Minneapolis, my parents own it, i say our because i have a vested interest, lol. I have spent countless hours working on the place and I had a lot to do with the decorating of the Sportsman Suite. That buck mounted in there was my first ever, i was 18, i think, getting old now, what was i saying? oh yea, um...............

This is a pic of my wifes first deer, (i'm her guide) She had to belly crawl across 100 yards of open wheat field to get on to him, She spine shot him and when we got down to him, she had to shoot him point blank to finish him off, she didnt like that part but she came thru. The funniest part was while i was gutting the buck, she called her sister to tell her she had got one, she was so excited, loud, and talking so fast, her sister thought she had shot ME! we still talk about that one.

I spend countless hours and days shed hunting each year and have quite a collection. these are my finest They gross score 188 2/8. (Not official but i think i know how to read a tape and i am familiar with how the measuring is done.)also, the right side tip was broke off maybe up to 2".

Some more of my sheds, on my best day, i once found 11 sheds. a typical day is maybe 2.
