How many of you are going to shoot does this season? If so, how many?

I'm thinking of taking at least 2 of the older ones out.

Here in Ohio I could shoot up to five doe's and one buck if I go a little to the south. In my area I can shoot three does and one buck. I will shoot one early in season if I get a chance. Then just hunt for nice buck. If I get a buck soon then I do not mind shooting more doe's for other people that need the meat. I have a older brother that loves deer meat but has not hunted in years, so me calling him up with a deer always makes his day.

I'll do my best to kill 3 does. One from west Tx and two from east Tx. I will have 2 buck tags and 3 doe tags. I hope to get a buck from each of the 2 counties I'll be hunting. I still don't have pics from the new place. I did pay for a spot and I'll be hanging stands this coming weekend. I'm also trying to buy a smallcamper thats for sale by the old man that left the lease and opened me a spot. Although I get my 100 acres it is part of a hunt club with 20 members. Each gets his or her designated area. Mine is a mix of pine and hardwood bottom. I was told by a couple of other members that it is a meat lease and not a trophy lease. These are guys that sit in box blinds and hunt feeders. They don't go looking for deer. They wait for the deer to come to them. I intend to open some eyes! I saw the owners trail cam pics,(still waiting for e-mail), the cameras were all set up on feeders. There were a lot of does and small bucks and two big bucks on the pics. I have a really good feeling about getting in to the deep woods away from the feeders. I am one of a very few bowhunters.

We have an early doe season this year that starts Friday. It's my boys first year bow hunting so I'll let him shoot the first one.

Fine as frogs hair. We got about 2 to 3 inches of rain but that was it. We are probably at least 6 hours from the coast here in Caddo Mills.

I got 6 inches of rain and some really high winds. Two trees came down but other than that all is well. I do have house guests from Houston for a couple of weeks.
