RE: Official Team 31 Thread
ORIGINAL: TX_Hoghunter I started raising catahoulas back in the 80's and have caught thousands of hogs in that time. 90% were caught alive and hauled out. While I will kill them I will not go out of my way to do so. I guess I am getting lazy or old (maybe both...), but killing hogs just does not do it for me. I only kill them because they are so desrtuctive. -john |
RE: Official Team 31 Thread
Its a little slow here at work today so I figured that I would post a few pics.
First a blurry closeup of my new custom arrows for this season. I got a dozen. ![]() Heres one of a hog. My cousin wanted one to eat so we killed him. ![]() Heres one of a catahoula. Not to say its an old pic but that is my oldest daughter and she has been married for about 2 1/2 years now....I really need some new pics ![]() And yes my girls do ride horses in flip flops.. ![]() If I don't put at least one pic of my middle daughter new horse she would kill me.. ![]() |

John, you have a lovely family. Those arrows look awesome!! Is that bow a matthews??
Lastly, that hog is a monster!!! I'm hoping I can nail one that big or bigger!;) I've never hog hunted, so I must ask is it a myth that they charge? |
RE: Official Team 31 Thread
LOL most of the time they will run away from you, BUT if one does run at you remember they run real fast in a straight line but they don't turn very well. If one gets close just make aright hand turn.
There was many a time they we would bay up 10 or more hogs at one time, turn the bulldog loose, she would catch one and so the next thing is me going in to throw and tie that hog. In that case you often have to jump over hogs as you are going in and they are coming out. Its loads of fun. You need to try it sometime. -john |
