Heat wave has set in here and its been hot and with a bright moon so deer haven't been doing anything. I have been out anyway because Thrusday out early muzzleloader seasons starts and the deer will get messed up for a bit. I will be trading in the bow for 3 days when it comes in and hunting the deep thick bottom of this area where I missed a hammer last shotgun season. So I have until Wednesday with the bow and Then hunting Thurs, Fri and Sat down in the thick bottom with the Optima

Keep after'em guys. I have finally scheduled my vacation time beginning on the 24th of this month for 10 days on the farm in KS. Just have to cross my fingers that I can put some bone on the ground in those 10 days.

I'm trying to get my connection to stay. I think we're having server problems.
Goo Luck to everyone. I'll get back tomorrow.

It's turning out to be a slow start for me.
Only sighted 8 doe's this year so far and not a buck in sight.
Hope it starts picking up. After this full moon goes away I
hope the deer start to cooperate.

Sand bagging??? I've been huting my butt off! Unfortunately, the only bucks I've seen have been 1 1/2 year olds. I just got back from my second trip to Arkansas. On Friday, I sat from 1 hour before first light until 7:30 without seeing anything. Then something ran two does off the top of the ridge and they came blazing by me. I got ready, but nothing materialized. Then at about 7:45, I gave a couple of soft grunts with my call, and not three minutes later here comes a forkhorn straight to me. He knew where that sound came from, because he walked straight to the base of my tree and milled around looking for the buck that made that grunt. I got to watch him within 10 yards of me for about 10 minutes, then he finally wandered off. That was the best part of this trip. I did get busted just this morning. I had been sitting forfour hours and had only seen two squirrels. I finally stood up, andtwo does and two fawns lit out from 35 yards away. They must have been in full stealth mode - I had no idea they were anywhere near me. Still, I've been lucky seeing so many deer this early in the season. Keep on hunting, and good luck!
