I sat 3 times this weekend. I saw tons of does and only 3 bucks. None of them were shooters though.

But the good news is, the temps are dropping, the deer movement is picking up, and the rut will be here before we know it

Hey AR, where is Clark County?
SW Arkansas right below Hot Springs. I hunt on the Antoine river on the east side. The other side of the river is Pike county.

Yesterday spent a beautiful afternoon up a tree on RI public land. Saw lots of tree rats, nothing else. Today, hunted CT. Decided to try a different spot closer to the landowner's house where they've been seeing a lot of deer. Had one yearling doe come and go at least 4 times. I think it was the same deer, but I can't be sure. It presented at least one shot opportunity, but she wasn't exactly what I was looking for and the distance was at the edge of my limit so I let her walk. Just before dark, 5 does start munching on acorns behind me, but too far for a shot. I expected them to approach from a different direction than they came from and they didn't pass by my stand. If I hunt that area again, its going to be a challenge to find a good ambush point. I'd practically have to set a ground blind in the landowner's front yard to be able to get a shot at deer feeding under the oaks they've been feeding at.

4 Day hunt planned, thur through sun. Now (wed) highs 86, lows 63. But thursday thru sun highs in the mid 60's lows dipping to 38 on sat. Cant wait. Found my first rub line this year, and keyed in on his bed as well. Going to give him a try in the morning, got my NW wind, got my tree, just need him to make an appearance. Rain may be a factor early morning but going anyway. I think they may be starting the seeking phase now. Looks as if the bachelor groups have busted up, seeing 1 1/2 and 2 1/2's mixed in with some does but no bad boys , since the second week. Prime time is coming.

hey guys just got back from my week hunt in pa. good news is I got a 8point small rack though but it puts us on the board.Shot a much bigger 8 day before but could not find him,I think I got only one lung hit shoulder other side then had my arrow break off inside leaving bad blood trail,But all in all filled my two doe tags so I had a great hunt.I'll post pic tomorrow and fill out score sheet I guess maybe 80in.

Nice! Congrats, BOB 22! On the board.

I'm off to PA on Friday. Be in a stand Saturday night. 6 days! My father-in-law saw a great buck last night on the property we'll be hunting. Lots of legal deer plus a few really nice PA bucks.
