I'm still after him, no luck, not even does. By bro seen 2 doe and 2 smaller bucks today. Haven't seen that big wide boy since he busted me a couple weeks ago. Backing off for a few days to let things settle down a bit. I'm going to try a new set up, kind of off the kilt, maybe it will work out to my advantage. Got some fellas from Mobile, AL bumping in on my spot. You can tell they are not in the same mind set as I am. They are shooting anything, and have. They are in and out, in and out, in and out. Hell I got them patterened you know the deer do.

I tried my best today, but didn't have much luck.

I saw 2 does this morning, one before it was light enough to shoot, and one that never gave me a shot. As I was getting ready to leave a mangy coyote came by so I put him down. I did him a favor, too.

This afternoon I saw 2 does with 2 fawns but they were about 100 yards away.

I'll be back after them in the morning.

Good luck to eveyone this weekend

I haven't been hunting in RI since the season opened on Wednesday. I was going to blow out of work early today to give it a shot, but the wind was blowing like 25 MPH so I figured I'd just wait til the weekend. I'll be heading back out to CT tomorrow, I was gonna try a different stand location closer to where the landowner says this big 8 has been coming thru to hit the fields, but the forecast says the wind is gonna be wrong for that spot and the spot I have been sitting in. I do have some other options if the weatherman is right, but I'll play it by ear and see where I end up. I'll hunt some public land in RI a buddy and I scouted out a few weeks ago on Sunday.

Sure it helps our cause! There are two less does your monster bucks will be able to tend. Make those monsters move a little more come the rut.

Congrats on the does. The only deer I saw tonight were way out in the field. I don't know where they're entering the field from, but its not past my stand anymore... I did hear some blowing real close by though, and I'm not sure ifit was me that was busted. 15 turkeys paraded past my stand and when they got to about 50 yards or so into the woods, a deer started blowing from that direction. I don't know if the turkeys got the deer going or if I got winded. It was pretty cool watching them fly up to roost. They are not quiet about it, lol. The only other action was I came to full draw on a coyote, but he never really gave me a clean enough shot for me to let one loose so he got to walk. I'll give it another shot tomorrow.
