Good day today.I got to my treestand today at about 1430 hrs. with the hopes of killing a doe.I have been seeing quite a few from this stand over the last few days, but never had a chance at a shot until today. This big ole'doe came in at 1615 hrs.with two other slickheads and were within 15 yards of my stand location for 20 minutes before this one finally giave me a perfect quatering away shot at 12 yards. For awhile there I thought I was going to run out of shooting light. The arrow struck the doe on the left side about 4 inches behind the shoulder and exited the opposite side, breaking the right leg on the way out.The deer ran about 60 yards and tumbled down a slight grade and came to a stop. The blood trail was heavy and steady right up to where the deer fell dead.I shot the deer with my 68 lb.29" Pearson Steath, shooting a 367 gr. 250 CX maxima Hunter arrow tipped with a 100 gr. Wac'em broadhead guided by my own hand cut Trueflight feathers.Arrow speed is 296 fps.My bow is equipped with a TR Drop Zone rest and a Viper Predator sight.I was using a Scott Silverhron release. The deer dressed out at 123 lbs.
