Our youth season is this weekend, which means I have to wear orange....I HATE wearing orange while bowhunting.....Hate it. But, this weekend things should be starting to pick up a bit. And, we're going to have good weather for it as well.

I go on vacation next Wednesday, the 5th and will be hunting all day for 2 weeks. I'm getting pumped up! I love this time of year!!

Mo I know about the orange while bow hunting. We had that 4 day doe only season 10 days ago and I didn't even go out. Good luck to you on your 2 weeks off. I might not be checking back in before you take off for that. It is a great time of year. I have not had 2 weeks off for the rut since 2004 and that is the year I fell and busted my leg on October 23rd. Never got to hunt it that year.

just got back and I am frozen! Got to the scrape stand this morning and there weren't any signs of deer movement. Got a hard frost last night and it was 22 degrees when I went out. There weren't any prints in the frost at all. Sat there until 9:00 AM and then decided to come back in as I saw nothing and my hands were numb by then. Back out this afternoon.

Man Coop, you don't hunt long at all!!! I see some of the best deer between 9 -12 .....is it the age?? I hear ya get colder with age....[8D]

Oh ye of little knowledge. The stand I was hunting this morning is in a wide open area. Until the chase is full blown, there isn't any movement out there during the day. We now return you to our regularly scheduled thread...

Well guys I will be checking this for about another hour and then off of work I AM. Unless we decided to skip a day somewhere do to weather or already getting a couple big bucks I will be off work until November 12th mid morning. Matt goes back that morning and I will be coming in here after I drop him at the airport. I do have internet access at the cabin but it is 100 times slower than dial up. I use it to load weather.com to get the low down on what the wind is supposed to be doing. I may try to load this page to see how everyone is doing but probably won't report anything until I get back to work.

Good luck everyone. Sounds like several of us are off for some quality hunting over the next 3 weeks or so. Again Good Luck and Shoot Straight.:D
