Some people just have to be the first one's out the door! Can't wait for the rest of the family and enjoy the time together! What a bogart!

Congrats man! Which brings me to my question:
Who's gonna be the first on this team to drop a buck?

Man, I'm looking at the weather, and it's killin me!! We are STUCK in a pattern that brings terrible winds for me to hunt. Locally, I have a few places to go, but......Any kind of east wind keeps me out of the woods. Friday - Monday......ESE wind. Season opens today and it may be NEXT weekend before I get in the woods! [:@][:@][:@]
But I'm not risking it just so I can be in the woods....

Westerly winds here and I could be in any one of my stands right now, but that would be POACHING! So, I'll just sit here and gripe for the next 16 days.[:@]

Congrats on the doe Dave!! she sure will make for some fine eating.
mobow, i hope the weather man is wrong for you, they are half the time around here anyway.
Too bad you dont have a stand for a east wind, thats theone wind i dont really have a stand for though either, which is on the to do list.

I'd like to say I will be the first to drop a buck but I never know. In years past I have not had great luck with that but I feel that is changing. Smacking that one to break the ice so to speak really did help.
Sorry to hear about the winds. I have some stands on our place that are good for east winds, some for south and so on. I do agree with you though on not going out and trashing a stand with bad wind just to be out.
AF sorry your IA DNR won't allow any earlier start. It is always warm and buggy to start the year here but I still love the Saturday closest to Sept. 15 opener for WI bow season. I hope that never changes.

I have a neighbor with some nuisance tags and have been told I can fill some, but there's something about being out there before the season starts that doesn't sit right with me. Don't know what it is, but I have decided to pass. Can't explain it either.

Well if it was me I would at least get another one here so that IF it falls apart I could get it set back up. Once you get it you should be able to switch it out pretty quickly if that is all you are switching. Doing all the cables and such would take more time. Do you do your own work? If so that is helpful and you could start it on a Sunday night when you get home from the weekend hunt and have it ready to go by the next weekend.

Congrats on the doe Dave, someone had to be first
. Looks like Wed now before I get out. Bow has an 06 string on it with 08 cams. Difference is about an inch in lenth in string and cablesbut I got it the best that can be expected till I get a new one from Gibblet.
