I am shooting a Scheels Compound bow (manufactured by Bear) now set at 48lbs, Bemen 400 grain arrows with 125 grain Shuttle T-Locks. I don't know how to figure out the kenetic energy, but as long as it has enough energy to drop that four legged meals on the hoof, that's all I care. With all my stands, the longest shot I'll have to make is 29 yards and I am very comfortable with that range.
Now that my pension is supposedly fixed, I am now waiting my military disability rating and all I have to do is find a job to supplement the income to where I can live comfortably and support my hunting addiction.

As far as vacation i dont really ever take vacation during bow season. Im self imployed and work for/with my dad at our motorsports shop so taking time off besides a few days a year dont happen 2 often.
I can hunt evey week eve hunt, exept mondays and thrusdays then i got weekends too. this year though i might trade the first week of gun(usually take the first few days of gun) fora fews days of bowtowardsthe end ofoctwhich isusually the best time to be out in the woods here with the pre-rut usually really kickin in high gear.
As far as when ill score i hope it is oct 1st on my first hunt. i think my odds are better towards the end of oct but we shall wait and see i guess.
As far as equipment im shooting a Browning adreline set at about 58lbs with goldtip xt hunters 5575's and muzzy 100's.
Wasthinking about refletching the gold tips with some 2"blazers i boughtbecause the gold tip vanesdo not seemquite durable enough to shoot thru the wisker bisquit rest i got. I bought a arizona ez fletcher last year from gander moutain but i bought the wrong one. instead of buying the offset one i got the straight helical. i heard they fly better with a 6 egree helical and dont fly so good with a none...what do you think mobow?

Most of my bow gear is in my sig. I shoot out to 60 yards as well but I won't be shooting at any deer farther out than maybe 40. Most of my stands are limited to 30 and under anyway. Shooting at 60 actaully makes my 20 and 30 yard shots better. This is the first year I will be using the Grim Reapers. Matt has used them for 4 years and has only had one deer fall out of sight. I have the 1 3/4" cut at 100 grains. Should leave one hell of a hole.
As for goodies I have a new Leupold range finder I will be using this year. I have 11 stands on 80 acres. Only 6 are rigged with the safety line and I will be setting up the rest as we go. I do carry a back pack and like it now that I have somewhere to carry the warm clothes. First time I did that was last year and it works great. Got all the clothes washed about 2 weeks ago and in the scent free bag. Got a bunch of the Dead down wind cover spray and should be set to go with that. I also use the ASAT 3D leafy system over my clothes. I have had deer look right thru me with that on. Pretty cool stuff. For binos I just won a pair of Alpen 10x42's over on ArcheryTalk so I am pretty pumped up about that. I have a set of 8x42 Audobon (made by Vortex) which I love. So this is kind of a bonus.

Shooting a Martin Bengal set at 65lbs with a trophy taker drop away, trophy ridge sight and s-coil stabilizer. Arrows are RedHead Carbon Fury with 2" blazers tiped with 100g 2 blade rage broadheads. '
I will be hunting 3 farms this season all located in SW Ohio. One of the farms is brand new to me and looks promising.
Quit my job recently to work from home and will be hunting almost every morning this season.

finner, I fletch my Blazers with helical, but if you just have a straight clamp, at the bare minimum use a 3 degree offset. You need something to get them spinning a little. And as far as them and the buscuit is concerned, you're right. They're fantastic through there because they are so rigid. Just be sure to shoot cock vane up.
I like the looks of the team this year. We've definetly got some straight up contenders here......I think we're gonna put a few on the ground.
And as a side note, thanks for your patience ya'll while my internet has been out at home. I'm getting a new modem either tonight or tomorrow, so I'll be back online. And when I'm at home, I'm on quite a bit. Just checking in periodically during the work day now.
If anybody has some pics of bucks they've killed in the past, I would be interested in seeing them.

Absolutely. Offset is not the same as helical. Helical is the vane "twisting" around the shaft, offset is the vane running across the shaft. Imagine a parallel line running from the V in your nock to your point. This line would be the exact center of your arrow. An offset vane will start on, let's say, the left side of that line and finish on the right side of that line. I'm not sure what jig you have, but it's quite simple to achieve. You just need to move your jig a little......

im looking at a older arrow here and now i see what you mean, as a can see this one is fletched with
and offset.
I got the arizona e-z fletch jig, and im thinking its probally a fixed one but maybe not.
ill have to look at it a little closer i guess. thanks mobow.
