wisbowhunter! HECK YEAH! Congratulations and make sure you get the pictures up within the time-frame listed in the rules so we can get those points. You have to take a picture with the buck, you, and your bow..MAN that is awesome that you stuck it out all this time and took a fantastic buck, you should be proud.

TOP 4 here we come!

Brett

Our buck season is closed, although we can still hunt does until the end of the month. I don't have anywhere to hunt as I hunt federal land and that has closed...so season is over.

I have a question for you Sideways....how hard do you think it would be for me to find some public land to bowhunt in Maryland? When does the season open and close? If it closes late I wouldn't mind adding a month to my hunting....and if it opens early in September, well then that would be great as well.

Shadow, Maryland's bow season has started Sept 15 and runs thru January 31st for the past 5- 6 years that I have been bowhunting.
Every year there is talk about changing those dates but it has never changed thru 08.
The bag limits are very liberal in the 2 regions (Maryland has split the state into 2 hunting regions)
usually allowing 10 does and 2 antlered deer per weapon (must take 2 does before taking 2nd antlered deer)
Maryland has some decent bow only public hunting grounds, one that I have hunted is Aquasco Farm in Southern Prince Georges County.
Best advice is to check out http://www.dnr.state.md.us/index.asp and search for public hunting.
You can also check out what a non resident license would cost.
Good Luck!
