Contest Brings Bad Luck???
 

I THINK SO!

Desperate to shake the string of bad luck I've had, I almost didnt sign up for the contest this year. Why? This will be year 4 for me in the contest, and I havent taken a buck w/ a bow the last 3 years I was in the contest. I should have though. Missed two bucks, and didnt recover one last year :( I'm guessing two would have scored 120-135 w/ the biggest pushing 140 (a miss) :(:(:(:(

Each of the four years prior to entering the contest I took a buck w/ a bow...

Either I dont believe in luck, or I'm a glutton for punishment, cause I'm back this year!

Matt / PA thought so too and didn't sign up for a year and then last year he signed up and look what he shot. The best buck of his life!

I think it is bad luck if and only if you put down money.

Otherwise, it's just friendly competition. :D

I haven't taken a Buck since joining the contest either but it's only cause I have let many walk.... After 52 years of Bowhunting, I have no problem letting the younger ones walk & going without. A big fat Doe has filled the bill for meat just fine the last few years & I let them walk for over 20 until a couple years ago....

My "bad luck"......

My 2nd buck taken has been my best for the two years I've entered. Doesn't do my team much good....lol...but I had extenuating circumstances with each entry (one was my first deer, ever.....and the second was an injured buck). I don't regret taking either.....but I'd like for my entry, this year, to be my "best" for the season.....for once.

In 2006, i didnt enter the contest (well i couldnt have even if i wanted too;)), and i shot my 6 point during my first bow season. Then last year i entered the contest and scored a big fat 0. I did take a nice doe for the freezer though.

Hopefully im not cursed either ;)
