What order?
Just curious;
What order do you shoot your spots? I shoot bottom right, bottom left, center, top right, top left. |
RE: What order?
Center first then random Daniel:D

TL;TR;CT;LR;LL

RE: What order?
TL, TR, BR, BL, C (clockwise)
|
RE: What order?
ORIGINAL: mobowhuntr TL;TR;CT;LR;LL the logical direction is left to right top to bottom...just like reading! But then again, not sure if some of you can read!!;) |
RE: What order?
TL, TR, C, BL, BR
Every time. If I can't see the arrows in the targets and forget which ones I've shot, all I have to do is look in the tube to see how many arrows are left and I know which target to shoot at next. Old age is catching up, eyesight and memory may fail, but at least I still have my mind (although that never really did work right...) |
RE: What order?
I am not 100% but I believe you can actually shoot them in any order, or even multiple arrows at a single spot if you wish. This is for 5 spot only though. NAA makes you shoot a 3 spot vegas face in numbered order I believe.

RE: What order?
ORIGINAL: KodiakArcher You can shoot any order you want but only one at each spot; the second shaft to hit a single spot counts as a 0. I used to remember having index marks at the edge of the paper near each spot (so when you pull up with a scope you can find the index mark at the corner of the paper and know which spot you're on) and God forbid that you draw up on your neighbor's target!! I've seen it happen. Just a hazard of shooting 6x and 8x scopes. ![]() |
RE: What order?
Thanks Matt! That's good info. Glad to see that things have changed on that. I remember a couple guys that suffered some serious heartache after accidentally putting two shots on one spot and loosing with a 295 even though they shot a 300. The biggest blunder though was when a guy shot the wrong target[:@][:'(].
Hmmm... I never drop a shot on the center bull or the LL and my skinny 1916's all fit nicely in the 'x', something to think about for next week. I'd have to order more X10 nocks though... |

RE: What order?
top left, top right, lower right, lower left, center.....
for whatever reason, the lower right target kills me. Of the 6pts I dropped last night, 4 of them came from the lower right spot!!!! |

RE: What order?
So am I correct in thinking that I can shoot all 60 arrows at one spot on the target face?
If thats the case I may try that next week, see if I score any better/worse because of it. |
RE: What order?
Nope. Read the rules son. 1 shot at each of the 5 targets.....

RE: What order?
Standard NFAA 5 spot scoring: 5 points for white, 4 points for blue, and zero for outside the blue. X count applies to tie breakers, w/ a perfect game being 300 w/ 60x. All scores turned in must include score as well as X count. A full game consists of 60 arrows total. These are shot in a format of 12 seperate ends of 5 arrows. Each end consists of a single arrow shot at each of the 5 spots on the target, 5 arrows total. If an arrow is touching a scoring line, it will recieve the higher score. |

Even if a rule was changed (which is the case in the 05/06 season as pointed out by Matt) it is now a part of the standard NFAA guidelines. Considering it was changed well before our contest was started... ;):D I don't care either way, I'm just sayin'... |
RE: What order?
Good. If you don't care, then shoot 1 arrow at each of the 5 spots, as the rule indicates.

RE: What order?
Standard NFAA 5 spot scoring To be honest, you better kick me out now. Since I shoot outside, in the gusting wind, I sometimes shoot at 3 of the 5 spots. If the wind is gusting from right to left pretty hard, I will not shoot at the left targets. Sometimes a hard gust would push my arrows off of target if I am shooting over to the left. My target is pretty much just big enough for targets. I'm just sayin... |
