Suh-weet.

I'll be picking up a new bow tomorrow, just in time to start shooting for this contest. :D;)

Just thought I'd share the good news.

And just what will the stork be bringing you?

Washington Hunter 01-04-2007 07:48 PM

RE: Suh-weet.

I'll be getting either an Allegiance or a Tribute.

I've shot everything new that I can, the Hoyts didn't really speak to me, so I narrowed it down to Bowtech.

The Allegiance I loved, but the Tribute hadn't been set up yet. I'll be going in with money-in-hand tomorrow though, so whichever grabs me is getting a ride home.

Thumbs up. . .have fun getting it ready. Post some fully dressed pictures. You can throw in some naked ones as well.

What are you going to do on accessories?

Did you get targets yet? Cause if you need some I might be able to get you some as well.

RE: Suh-weet.

Accessories are still up in the air. I've got a few ideas of what I'd like to get, but as often as I change my mind, I'm still undecided.

As for the targets, Matt is sending me some. I talked to the guys at Sportsman's Warehouse while I was in there yesterday and they said when I came in and bought my bow they could probably find a few in back to give me.

I'm going in trying to spend no more than $1,200, but I'll have $2,000 in my pocket.

Just keep in mind I'm buying everything new, including arrows, broadheads, and a new target.

Oneshot, what are you looking at buying?

I'm suffering the same pains you are this year, but it is with a target bow, not a hunting bow. It gets even more expensive on the target side of things. [:@] But in the end, the pains are good ones.

It only hurts for a little while, its all worth it in the long run. I plan on keeping this one for a few years before upgrading again, so I figured I may as well go all out on it.

WH, I am going to be right there with you as well here in a month or so. I just got my indoor setup ready to go and now I have to start thinking about an outdoor setup which means more money to be spent. I am retiring my current outdoor 3D setup down to my hunting setup which means I have a hunting setup that needs to be sold. What a mess but that is what I get for being a proshop staff shooter. Good luck with your new setup, should be a nice one.

I need every advantage that I can seeing that all you guys will be getting those handicap points.

RE: Suh-weet.

Shoot, I'm just hoping my new bow is accurate enough to make up for my inexperience with 5-spot. This'll be my first time shooting 5-spot.

RE: Suh-weet.

You will like either of the bows you were talking about getting. You will find yourself getting the hang of it a bit quiker than expected. Practice, practice, practice.

I think I'm going to like shooting this way and if I do, I may join an indoor league next winter to pass the time.

Speaking from experience, you will becomea much better shooter in the woods or on the 3D course. I still have a long way to go myself but I have noticed great improvements by shooting indoor and it is good fun too.

Target archery is a whole different breed. But I tell you what, I will never look back now that I crossed this road. Archery is stuck in my veins, I now love all facets of the sport.
