ORIGINAL: FRALEY

Spud glad to hear you survived this one. Hopefully all will learn from this. I think you should tell your story
to help others. Just my little opinion pal
Sorry I haven't answered this sooner but I returned to the hospital with pneumonia and a staff infection. I am now sitting in my basement and hopefully on tract to a full recovery.

Yes I agree Fraley. Here it is.

We got to the woods about 2pm, walked to our secelected hunting spot. I hooked my bow on the string and attached my climber to the tree. Now I don't use a safty harness climbing up and down with the climber because I am 99 percent tied into it. I do now however recommend using one at all times. Hind sight.
I reached the height I wanted and just happened to look down and see my back pack lying on the ground and this is where I keep my harness. At any rate I decided to head back down the tree to get my pack. Well, I didn't exactly secure myself in he climber and when I went to move it downward the bottom piece slipped about 2 feet and when it finally caught the sudden stop jolted me right out and down to the ground. Instead of wrapping myself around the climber and placing my arms in the bars, setting on the strap I justkind of hung on to the climber part, big mistake,I am truly lucky to be alive.
I know this may sound corny, but if you use climbers be sure to use them the way they were intendedto be used. The most important item to carry with you in the woods isyour cell phone, fully charged. Without mine I might have been coyote bait. Onemore thing, if at all possible always hunt with a buddy. I wish everyone a safe and successful hunt.

Whoa, Our team members are dropping (no pun intended). You guys be safe out there, lets not have anymore accidents. I haven't seen a buck in the last two weeks. I did get a nice doe last Friday. and my kid was at full draw on a yearling, but she just wouldn't take one step out from behind the brush. He was whispering "I don know if I can do it." It was exciting, it brought back all those feeling when I first started bow hunting.

Guy's!

I was certainly planning on being out this week ,but I've been sick in bed with the flu,so much for hunting . I'm feeling a bit better today and hopefully I'll be out in the morning . We got about 3" of snow overnight and are expecting very much the same weather all weekend long . I think now's the time to catch these big buck's feeding in the crop field's ,I sure hope that's the case .
Spudrow !

I'm real glad to hear your going to mend O.K. ,but we'll have to turn it up a notch or 2 ,I've noticed we still don't have a deer scored yet for the team . I hope Stevez hasn't forgot to do it .We sure need some point's on the board .

Good luck Bob ,hope you bag a big one . If the buck's have disappeared I'll bet you'll catch one in the middle of the day feeding in the field's .That's if the rut has finished or coming close to being finished . I'll be back out in the morning on Sun, haven't been able to get out due to being sick ,I still have a bit of a cough hopefully tomorrow will be back to normal.
