Dave, best of luck to you and your son. I hope that it is cooler where you are than it is here, i was out this morning for and hour and a half before work and saw a whopping 2 squirrels. The comination of the high temps and the full moon has deer movement at a standstill here. Oh well, hopefully tomorrow afternoon.

Same thing here ,hot and muggy. Went out yesterday morning and saw nada. Went out in the evening and saw 1 squirrel. Got up this morning and it is hot and muggyso I decided not to go. Nothing moving except the mosquitoes. May try this afternoon if it cools down some.

Not much going on for me either guys. I've been out a few times and had some does come close, but no shots. Went out this afternoon, 85 degrees and very humid. With the temps and full moon I was pretty surprised to have two does and a young 6 point pass me by around 6 P.m. Not close enough for shots, but good to see them moving.

Dave, what ever happened with your property issue? Sounds like you at least found a place to hunt, but what happened with the church property?

Three more days before Illinois finally opens up, but I won't be able to hunt until the weekend. Hopefully temps will cool a bit by then. They're saying upper 70's all week. I'm ready for 30's and 40's!

Well guys as of 6pm tonight I am back in the game. The gentlemen who manages the church property I was hunting on came by the house and gave me permission to hunt. I was also told that I would be the only one hunting the property this year. Now I am excited !!!! As of 7pm this evening my 5 other stands are now packedin the back of my truck and I informed my son to eat his wheaties in the morning. We will be putting intreestandsTomm.

Dave, congrats on getting the church property back, cant wait to see a pick of the monster your going to get out of there. Not too much to report here, the temps are dropping alittle bit and im planning on hunting tonight, tomorrow night and thursday morning if all goes as planned. A friend of a friend shot a 146 inch 12 point about a mile from my main property, so that is very encouraging. Maybe today.
Hows everyone else making out? Any close calls or exciting stories?

Didn't do too well this past weekend. Only hunted Sat. and Sun. morning. Had a wedding Sat. night anda reunion Sun. afternoon. Still a little too warm, only saw 1 doe on Sat. morning and a doe and fawn on Sun. morning. Wasn't presented a shot on any of the deer. I am going to try to get out for a couple hours tomorrow evening after work. Sounds like we have some rain coming in tomorrow night so hopefully that is good news.I will let you know how I did tomorrow night. Later guys..

Didn't hunt our opener, my mom had surgery. She's doing very well.

Hunted the last 2 nights. Saw 2 does last night,didn;t get the shot I wanted so I didn;t take one.
Tonight I was real pumped at my spot and got blanked. Someone decided to build 5 fort looking ground blinds within 40 yds of each other. Utterly bizzare. I don't know when they put em in. Sign was gone from this normally money area.
Kicked out around 10 deer exiting back to my truck. [&:]
Next time I'm out is friday. Maybe thursday despite the heat.
