Hey everyone! Glad to see teams are finally picked! Check in as soon as you can so we know if we need any alternates to fill the spots.

In the mean time start thinkin of some good names for the team, and if you want to nominate anyone or yourself for team captain. I was captain for my team last year and will gladly do so again this year.

HuntingEd weren't you in the 5 spot league last winter?

Rattlesnake1 aren't you in WI and you hunt in Sauk county. My step son was on your team last year.

Looks like I see a couple other names from years past. Where is everyone hunting at and how are things looking? I hunt in Richland county in southwest Wisconsin. 80 Acres of family land. I usually only get on here during the week while at work. Try to stay away from computers and TV and such on weekends.

What about a name? Captain?

I'm here, just got back into town from a work trip. Bad news is my early season buck changed his pattern the past 10 days so I'm scrambling right now. Our season here in ND opens 2 weeks from Friday and I had this guy patterned to a "T" until the past week.

Glad to have you on board deadstick. Don't get to scrambled. You have time. So you get to start on the 31st. Damn that is NICE. We start Sept. 15th and we are earn-a-buck. That is the bad news. Good news is that we can earn ALL the bucks we want. We have UNLIMITED doe tags and for every doe we get a buck tag. Guess in reality that is bad news too. I will be after 2 or 3 does right off the bat and then I will be looking for bucks. Our rule in camp is that you can take any buck for the first one but any after that MUST be big or let them walk. Last year I shot a small (3 point) Velvet buck because in 25 years of bow hunting I had never had a chance at a Velvet buck. It did not do much for the team but I was very proud of it. So unless something goofy comes by early I will still be looking for a decent buck before all else. I have not seen any real monsters out where I hunt as the CWD kill all attitude of the DNR does hurt the chances of bucks getting old. The was I see it is if we all shoot 80 inch bucks we will win this anyway. Good luck to all.

Since not many have checked in yet and no one else has spoken up, I'll volunteer to be team captain for us. (I was a captain last year)... If anyone else wants to be captain please speak up soon or Let me know if ya'll are alright we/ me being captain...

Not sure about the names. I have not followed all the spooning things but I am sure that no one else will be doing that.

Hey ram guy you will have a lot of fun. This is my 4th season in the contest. I just like to keep up on what the team is seeing and since I hunt pretty much by myself it gives me some other guys to talk to about my hunts.

Hey guys welcome aboard, glad to see the team is mostly here now....

I started a new job, but I'll have plenty of time to hunt... they are real flexible w/ hrs so I can go in at 6 and leave at 2... Im only 5 min away from my hunting spot :)

Also they do an every other friday off thing that ends on Sept 21st, I wish it went year round, but atleast I get the 21st to hunt!

Ed is captain and I think passthru is the name. Are we going to use that avatar? Looks pretty good to me.

Ed - I get every Friday done at NOON. It helps some and might more this year then others because if my step son is not going I won't have to wait until he is done with school to head out. My spot is 1.5 hours away. Sounds like a great job if you can start early and get out early.

Drummer that is a very nice buck last year. Maybe you can find his twin brother this year. Should be even bigger. Good luck with it. Guess it is time to switch avatar if we are going to use it. Can't believe how dead this team is. Working sucks. Anyway only 30 days for me to go earn my buck tag. Hoping I can beat my sons record from last year where he got one in 62 minutes. Since he is in FL with the Navy I am going to take his stand. I think I can do it.:D

Can you get doe tags or are you only allowed one buck or doe? If you can get the tags take them and FILL THEM. If you don't and your herd gets out of hand you will be forced to and that does suck. Now this year in WI you can't even donate to the food pantrywithout paying for the processing. In the past the DNR covered the cost of the processing but theytook it out of the budget this year. Ironic thing is that when youbuy your license you are asked if you want to donate to that fund. So anyone that did the DNR just kept that money and used it for something else.[:'(]

Nice buck drummer, I had a good 2006 as well. Gross 142, Net 132 (shot during rifle season with bow which is why I'm in orange).

Can't seem to find this year's deer though. This young one is the best guy I've got in a newarea that I'm hunting solely for 2 deer that I watched all summer, and have now disappeared in the past 2 weeks. Hopefully they'll show up again in the next 2 weeks (just put the camera out last week).

Amazing how consistent he is though, he walked through this trail between 6:45 and 7:10am every single morning the past week and only once at night.
