Hey guys how was the weekend hunting? I haven't heard of any success stories so I assume it went the same as mine. it is still very warm here, was in the 80's both Sat and Sun.
I went out sat morning and about 8:30 decided to rattle lightly just to see what would happen. Within 5 minutes I had a 1.5 old buck come in to within 15 yeards to see what was going on. He was not a shooter but it was nice to see a buck and one interested in rattling. Few more days things should be getting pretty good and hopefully the big boys will be crusing around for the first does.

We just got done with our CWD early gun hunt. I did not even take my rifle out. Friday and Saturday the wife and I went and sat at my lease. First time it was hunted all year, the first night we saw 2 bucks and a 6 does. Being her first year gun hunting, I thought she would shoot any buck. I told her she could use my buck tag.(party hunting is legal in Wisconsin) She passed on an easy shot at a 4 point the first night, and the second night she passed on a 7 point. She did shoot a doe on Saturday......Now she has her own buck tag for the regular gun season.
Time to gear up for bowhunting now, probably going out in the morning, since I have off.
Good Luck to all!

Was out again tonight with no sightings again. It's been a tough season with only 5 deer being sighted all year so far and that was all in one evening. Going to keep hitting it hard and hope I get some luck. Going to start hunting the private land end of this week or next week so im excited. We're due to put some more " on the board here soon!

No luck yet for us Wisconsin boys. I had a 125-130 class 8 eight pointer 25 yards away tonite but couldn't get a shot. Hoping for something a little bigger. Heading up to Trempealeau/Buffalo county tomorrow so I'll keep you guys informed.

No need to be sorry New. I think we all have been struggling so far this season. Things here in southern Indiana are starting to heat up. I saw two bucks chasing a doe saturday morning. Both bucks presented me with shots but both of them together would have scored maybe 60". I am by no means a trophy hunter but I can't take a 1 year old fork horn. I scouted a spot this afternoon where there was a scrape line hit hard. Looked like the scrapes were just opened up today. I have two weeks off after this week which I hope will pay off. Good luck to everyone in the upcoming weeks.

I'm not sorry I shot him, I just wish you could enter your second buck for the team score. It was one of the best hunts I've had in a while and I can't wait to get back out.The woods are smoking right now around here.
