Well I got out in the woods today and I must say it felt good to get out there and hunt!!!! I had two does 15yds in front of me for an hour, then about 20 minutes before dark, there he was,,,,60yds away,,,,it was a freekin' monster!!!! Didnt get to count points but he was wide and tall. The bad part was when he poped out in the field, he walked the other way......[>:][>:][>:]Caint wait till monday.......

Went out last night, nice to be in the tree stand again. Had 3 does 3 fawns and one 5 point all within 15 yards. Backstraps for supper tonight, got my earn a buck sticker with a young doe. Good shot, she went 20 yards and tipped over. By the way, zs93 was hunting on the other side of the woods and also connected on a doe. Pressure is off, now we can concentrate on a big buck.

Congrats guys on the backstraps.......14 dyas and counting for me, can't wait. I have a very nice 10 and 8 pointer visiting a water hole everyday. Hopefully I can get in there undetected. Good look at the big boys.

Congratulations on the does guys, hope you do just as well with some bucks. It's been a little slow for me but I managed to get out twice so far. My second hunt was really interesting and I postedthe storyin the bowhunting forum. Here is a link if you are interested:

RE: Hair Raising!! (little long)

With the kids starting school and a stomach virus going around the house I haven't had too much free time but I hope to get out Thursday evening and a little on Saturday. Anyway, hope everyone is doing ok and good luck to everyone hunting already.

New I saw your post out in the forum, man what an encounter that must have been. I am not sure what i would have done in that situation, especially since I have no experience around bears. Anyway that is what makes hunting fun, if you make it back to tell the story.

So have you got a new pair of pants yet?

AWESOME!.......Don't have many bear where I bowhunt, never saw one while hunting deer.
But I have been on 5 Bear hunts, usaully they are more afraid of you than you are of them. I have killed 3 bears, two in treestands and one in a ground blind. Sitting in that blind not knowing where the bear was going to show up, made me nervous. The excitement of being at ground level and killing that bear was awesome.
Great story, now get some new pants and get outthere.

This will be the last post until Oct.2nd, I'm heading out west on a family/hunting vacation. I will be stopping by my rancher friend on the way home to do some hunting. My wife and I have antelope tags, so we'll be bringing some meat home and hopefully at least one trophy.
Good Luck to all
