I saw 2 does and a spike yesterday - could have killed any of them, but way hot here too and its a 3 point rule where I live. No cool air in the weatehr for 10 days - mid-October and its mid-80's ? wow ........ when it does cool, when the first cold snap rolls in, THAT is the day to hunt, the bucks will be tearing it up !

Wow, is it hot here- the suntan is coming along nicely, but the deer movement has been slow. I am just seeing does and fawns, I plan on putting one of the does in the freezer as soon as my oldest son can go with me on a hunt to our buddy stand.

Cold snap coming next week so hopefully the deer will be a little more cooperative.

ahunter55- Glad to hear that the wife is doing better. Don't worry about the hunting. That has to be so meaningless right now for you.

WE have the same heat wave here also. It isn't bothering me since I can't hunt for the next 2 weeks anyways. Bt the cold starting mid week will definetly help!!

Almost happend last night. It was 94 degrees out and the deer were moving. I seen 14 bucks in a 1/2 hr. Seen a 160 inch 10 pointer. Was coming straight at me and turned at 60 yrds out. A guy in my club 300yrds from me shot at him and missed. He also missed another 1 several minutes later that was even bigger. I told him not to feel bad about it. I would show him pictures when I put them on the ground.

Ray- did you ask that guy if he gave any thought to hitting the range for awhile before trying to put the shot on some nice bucks? Even if he does hit him you know it is going to be a lousy shot.

He shoots very well. The size of the deer had him shook up pretty bad. He was still trembling when I got to him. BUCK FEVER!

WOW im not haveing a very good season so far. All i have seen is a couple of does and have been out in the 90 degrees almost every day. I shot over a doe at 30 from a stand that i haven't hunted out of for a while. then I was still hunting on the ground when a nice doe walked up i got the draw on her. she was at 20 yards but there was a branch at about 10 but it was above the deer so i didn't think of it so i shot it hit the branch a deflected into the air right intoa swamp with no chance of finding my arrow. So that is thesum of my first weeks in the bow huntig woods.

Starting to cool down here, shot a doe last night in the high winds. The Drenalin and Slick Tricks are officially broken in now, time to test them out on a big boy! Pics are in the bowhunting section.
