Hmmm .. reading your poll I thought to myself ( they gotta be kidding )REALLY with a line up your team has you all have a better chance than any other team except for mine of course. ;)
You guys and Lady Forge got some big buck shooters , my friend and former team mate Woodline Bucks had a nice buck last year.
We all know that Lady Forge will get anotherMONSTER, I wish your team the best of luck this year and I hope you all have a safe and successful season.

Thisis old AEgiving an big salute tothe outstanding bow hunters on team 9 and reporting for duty!!

I will miss some of the smack talk as I will be leaving in a little over a week to chase the majestic wapiti. That hunt will be a "two stager" with the first part starting the last week of August and then again the latter part of September. No matter, I know team 9 will get along just fine without my big mouth for that period of time.

In the mean time I am just honored to be a member of team nine and hope we all have a safe and successful season.

Dadgummit!!!

You 'bout made my heart jump through my throat... I thought your poll insinuated you had kshunter on your team too!! This is already an unfair team; that would have put you guys into the "absurd" category!

Antler Eater, good luck my friend! I'm heading out on Aug.22 for my first shot at the wapiti as well... Montrose, CO., area. How do we score our elk for the contest? [8D]

ryanaller checking in!

This past saturday in the 110 degree heat index I worked on some stands and cleared out some areas, and have my cameras out. I won't go back down there until Dove season (Sept. 1) so I'll post some pictures if I get any good ones!

This looks to be an awesome team, I can't wait for the season to begin! I have 3 Pope and Young bucks that I have been watching this Summer so far, but I haven't found that jaw dropper yet. Hopefully I will have the rest of my stands out by the end of next week, and then I just wait for the 1st of October to get here.

The extra pressure everyone is putting on us is awesome! I work better under pressure!

I have about 5,000 acres in Southwest Oklahoma I'll be running around. For the most part I have 2 creeks that have turned out some nice deer. I have been watching some big guys in my neighbors alfalfa field, lets hope they come to see what it looks like under my stand!

I leave the 28 will stay for at least 2 weeks unless we feel the need to stay a little longer. Cant wait to here how you guys do ou there. Been going out there with a bow for about 8 years unguided we have learned alot from it .

Good luck all

RE: 9-Official Team Thread

I'm hoping to get out next week & do some serious trimming. Team 9 here's what I've got 4 land to hunt on.#1) Private 40acres, w/about 10 in mixed scrub woods & a creek bottom. One hellova rub line on the top side lastyr. From the size of the line, I'd say Big buck, but never seen him.Rest of it some type of field. Took a buck out of there in gun season. Seen a lot prints of travel thru in the snow last yr. Property #2) 20acres hayfield w/a woodline on the border. The wood line has a path about 10' cleared thru it all the way to back side of the field & into state land. Property #3) several stand sites on public land, pulled a few deer out of there, nothing to brag about. mainly gun season. I also have the inside on a 600 acre parcel & have the permission, but haven't been up there yet to work the property. So what I'm asking is which one do I hunt opening morning on?

RE: 9-Official Team Thread

Antler;
As for team names I like

The Dream Team
The Whitetail Tribe

Do we have any Nominations for Team Captian????
I nominate Antler

The area's I will be bowhunting this year are,
In Brown County Illinois just next to the Pike county line at an Outfitter Friend of mine property where we have a womens only bowhunt in late October.

Also I was drawn in a lottery to bowhunt for herd reduction the Robert Allerton Park owned by the University of Illinois in Piatt County Illinois,In exchange for the right to bowhunt the Park we are required to complete 40 hours of Volunteer work for the park, and I am 1/2 way done with my hours......they have some Real Nice Bucks in the there and some big ole doe's... For every Doe we take we can take a buck( 2 bucks max in Illinois ) Below is a buck a friend took there 2 years ago at the park.

I havepermission to bowhunt asmall piece of private property in Champaign county but it hasnt been very productive in the past.

I will be bowhunting my favorite place to bowhunt a park owned by the Conservation District in Vermillion County Illinois and there is no deer gun hunting in the park:D. I have a friend that works there and I got a
Big Piece Of Insider Info From Him
and
Thats All I Am Gonna Say About That;)

I will also be bowhunting a piece of land recently aquired by the State From the power company in Vermillion County Illinois...the northern portion was previously leased from the power company and we were able to hunt it. Done a little scouting on the southern end there and I had no problem finding poachers stands...already got the state on 3 poachers stands in there [:'(]What a scenic piece of land and it looks favorable for a real nice buck;)
I will also bowhunt other State owned Public Hunting land in Vermillion County Illinois.

RE: 9-Official Team Thread

Lady Forge,

Thanks for the kind words. Starting the middle of next week I will leave and won't be back for a week. Then I would miss another two weeks toward the end of September. If the rest of the team can live with that then being a captain would be an honor. If not I wouldn't be offended and I would support whoever took the spot.

Looks like you are all set for another terrific season. My goodness the buck the young man has his hands on in the pic you provided is an outstanding specimen!!! Where can I find one of those???

As far as names go I like all that have been suggested....

Got to run for now, more later.....
