I'm still learning but I would think the first high pressure day after the snow should bring out a lot of deer.

today at 9:30 I saw a nice buck

It think it came to my grunting but it circled wide downwind. It may have smelled me, but i'm not concerned. It just continued on. A decoy would have worked I think. I should try some type of buck urine or tarsal scents though. I used tinks 69 the other day to no avail.

Any suggestions?

I bet that Thermacell would make some money if they made deer scent wafer things.

I saw my trusty ole spike again.. one button buck, two grouse and two grays.. REALLY Quiet in the woods.. I have come to the conclusion I will NEVER shoot a BIG BUCK over bait... VERY HARD TO DO..

this mornin I walked in and there was some deer eatin my apples. Well it runs a little bit when I walk in. So I was there, wondering what to do. So I had this great idea. I just started walking normally (louder and faster) walked up to the bait pile and dumped more apples. Then I walked halfway back out the trail. I snuck back in and into my treestand, and the apples I kept throwing to make it seem like i was walking away sealed the deal. I sat down and ten seconds later the deer came up and started eating. I dont know if it was a doe, fawn, or a spike; it was before light.

Are spike bucks the fawns from this year? I saw one, it looked just like the button fawns with the same body and face shape and size, but it had little 3" spikes. It's hard to believe they are a year apart, but I don't think that it could've grow the spikes in the last few weeks.

Well there are at least five defferent bucks that have walked through at least. They're moving but I don't think they are sticking around. Action is not nearly as hot this year as it was last year. I think last year's full moon on the 5th kicked it up a notch. And because i'm sort of bored/procrastinating:

Nice 8

Nice 9 pointer:

A buck, ?

Little 9

lil 7 or 8

A fork

And there's at least 2 button bucks (one may have been shot) and a spike. I saw one nice buck yesterday and my dad saw one on Thursday from my stand. Wind should be good tonight but tomarrow it might rain a little and there will be 30mph winds. I don't think much will be moving.
