Hey Ryan,
Thank you very much! The same to you and your new team! It's going to be tough to equal the cameraderie that you had with XX's.Great bunch of guy's.It is nice to get to meet some other folks a little bit better though.
I just got back from a vacation with my family,no time in the woods or shooting for the last week,I am anxious to get back to it.

How about , THETURD HERDERS? lol
Dave can be captain, I was last year.. So if he has any questions or whatever I might be able to answer them...
The UNDERDOGS, The 10 Wisemen, Boys from the Woods, The 10 Monkeys sitting is the Trees, Bone Collectors (Used already?),

I really like the "TURD HERDERS", but I'm partial to that considering I operate a Waste water Treatment Plant.. hehe

Glad to see you've checked in Mark. Welcome to our band of marry men.

I'llaccept captain the since all of you have voted for it. Thanks guys. Now I need to lead by example and tag a buck this year early.

We are up to6 guys now. We're getting there.

32 days to go here now. I went and shot 3D for the 4th time in my life tonight. Shot a 278 on 30 targets. The one thing I hate the most is where the 12 ring is on a 3D target. It's way too high. They had 1 deer that had the vitals shown and I drilled it from 30 yds right through the heart and both lungs up hill. My last shot was a double lung and heart from 40. I'm so pumped right now I may not make it until season!!!

The coolest thing is that the place I shot meandered through the woods and there were 2 fawns hiding along the path. If I would have seen them soon enough I would ahve taken pictures. However, when we stopped they took off. I bet 40 guys walked right by them before we did.

I hope you all had and are having a nice summer.

RDHunter,

I'm glad to see that you are making your rounds. That poor kid on team 26 thought you were serious when you started talking smack about a few of his team members. I'm wondering what these guys have to say about you?

Brad,

Do I have to start a new thread to get a poll? I'll right down all of the names so far and we can vote when we have all 10. I like a few of the names that you guys have presented so far. Turd Herders cracks me up.

We'llpost thevote Thursday? I'm heading out of town Thursday night and won't be back on a PC until Sunday night. Maybe post it Thursday at work and we'll see the votes for Sunday?

YO YO don’t count me out. I’ve been hanging stands, cutting shooting lanes, setting up trail cameras, baiting now that’s it’s legal, buying new tree stands, fixing old tree stands, shooting my bow every day, fixing up new arrows, repairing old ones, sharpening broad heads, and getting ready for the 2007 Deer Season!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry it took me so long to post but I’ve been in the woods. Thank God the season is almost here. I promise to hunt hard, hunt often, and shoot straight. Hello team I have heard a lot about this site from my good hunting buddy sr77. Now that I have posted I hope everyone will trust me in that I am a very serious hunter and with out any question will be into this team hunting forum. A little about myself, I live to deer hunt and nothing else at the moment. I LOVE DEER HUNTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good luck everyone kill’em dead.

Jeff,

Welcome and glad to hear from you. sr77 is a good guy from the few posts that I've read and interacted with him on. You're not late at all.

We're not counting you out at all. Just trying to rally the troups into a buck hunting frenzy like this site has never seen before. By the time the season starts our team is going to be so pumped that bucks will be running to our stands to support our effort to win this thing.

We are up to 7 guys now and I recieved an email from 1 guy that's just been pretty busy.

Are we going to have to put Jeff on probation? j/k

My hope is that we all see bucks this year even if we never get a chance to fire a single arrow. I think we should try to post pictures from the stands we hunt this year too. Maybe pictures of anything odd we see too. Crazy squirrels and such.

PS: my pic aint the best its kind of blurry but you get the point, by the way why dont we all post some pics so that we can get an idea of the deer in your area:eek:

RE: 19-Official Team 19 Thread

That a nice buck and congrats on the doe.

The buck in my sig is a smaller one compared to some of the bucksI see around here. That one was unofficially measured by me at 93 inches.I actually measured 96" but deducted for me being probably too generous during the measurement process.

I'll take some pictures as the scouting goes on and during the season or even when I see some of the bucks around.

Hey guys...checking in. Looking forward to this season, hoping to add some points to the team! I am from VA, and primarily hunt in VA & WV. We really don't have big bucks where I live, but I still hold out for a nice one. I won't shoot a small buck at all, haven't in 10yrs. A good one where I live is 100". I am heading to IL on a trip this fall with a buddy of mine that has a farm out there...so hopefully I'll be able to tag a nice one out there. Unfortunately I won't have as much time to visit the forum and team thread as I would like to, my business isincredibly busy right now, and I just don't have much time.

Looking forward to it! :D

Dave I'll gladly accept you as Captain!

Hi Mike, my wife is from WV and I love hunting up there.Awesome scenery in the fall.Shot my first deer there in '99 and that's what got me hooked on deer hunting. Welcome to the team!Alright guys I'm getting pumped now, I also like the energy on the this team.

I was thinking of names last night and I also thought of Underdogs and I was also playing off the idea of anHeir Apparent (spelled right?), or someone who is next in line to take the crown. Thought we could usea play on words but I haven't come up with anything I like yet. I don't know, just brainstorming.

I think you guys would do great as the turd herders.

I tried to get my guys to go for "The Rainbow Brites" or "Richard Simmons and the Pink Flamingos" - they didn't bite. I think they wanna trade me b/c they think I'm odd. LMAO

Scot has a PHD. Poop Herding Degree.

RE: 19-Official Team 19 Thread

Fran,

With your pink arrows I figured you'd come up with something crazy.

Wait, they think you are odd? I've pretty much figured out that you are. Did you catch the speed of my Ally with the 440 gr arrow? I wonder what my momentum is?;) I wish I could shoot one ofyour High Country arrows without being afraid my bow would act in an undesirable way.

By the way what is your actual profession? Are you an engineer going for a Law Degree?

Good Luck to your group.

Thanks Nathan. for my first proclamation i decry that we all take the rest of the day off and go shoot or look for deer. :D

Fletched Death or Quiet Arrow both seem to be growing. However, we still have time.

quiksilver 08-14-2007 12:58 PM

RE: 19-Official Team 19 Thread

Dave - I didn't catch your ally speeds... Haven't been on all that much lately, so I probably missed it. You could shoot one of those speed pro arrows, just if something breaks.... Deny, deny, deny. LMAO Don't be knockin' my pink arrows.

My profession - majored in Finance (minor Econ) at PSU, went to Pitt Law for my J.D.. Graduated there, now trying to pass the PA bar for my license. Work at a smallish law firm right now - work comp, personal injury, estates, property law.

Hey Scot - I wanna see some pictures of your new camo. Gary said he just ordered the same stuff. It's got me wondering... I was just up your way (kinda close)over the weekend - spent all day saturday floating on the Allegheny Reservoir. Caught 5 smallies and a 3rd degree sunburn. Wife says "you should've used sunblock." She's a real master of the obvious. [8D] Women.....

RE: 19-Official Team 19 Thread

You have probably noticed that I typically don't post photo's here, there is a reason for that.I don't know how! I am seriously lacking in technological skills.
If you mean the sitka gear stuff,I can take some pictures and email them to you.Nice stuff, not sure it is better than Grey Wolf Stuff.Time will tell.Just ASAT.materials are polyester primarily, some spandex.JAcket looks pretty bullet proof and all the stuff is extremely well made.I will be returning the 90% jacket for sizing reasons.I swear to god I am between every size that was ever made.I ordered a large and by the proportions they show in the sizing guide it should be fine.I know it cut trim and athletic and I believe I am trim and athletic but man I can't layer under the thing. It may be a large for a nationality other than american.I am 6'2" and 170 lbs..Not exactly beastly,I do have long arms and they are fine but the chest area is just to restrictive.I like some room in my garments for layering and overall comfort.
Where is the Allegheny Reservoir? It can't be to close or I would have heard of it.If you were at the Ashokan Reservoir and didn't call me I would be hacked, the Ashokan is like 10 minutes from my home.If you are ever up in the Hudson Valley you have got to give me a call,or if you are intending to be in NYC,we are about 2 hours north of New York City, maybe a little further.

I wanted a name that represented being in the woods but not being seen, like we came,we killed and didn't leave a ripple in the forest.Like we were never there,we didn't disturb any thing. This might sound to out there for some, but I know what I mean.
What ever name everyone likes is fine with me!

charles,

Welcome and no problem. We are down to 1 guy. badger hasn't been in here since July so hopefully he tried to check in soon.

Ihave another team name to add to our list.

"SILENT ASSASSINS"

Maybe that's been used before or even this year. But I figured it incorporates the quietness and stealth that archery use and the assassins fits in with the aggressive sort of name that some of the group is looking for. I'm going to post a poll today with the names we have and we can all vote and by tomorrow afternoon hopefully have a name. it's still early though so if you guys want to wait longer we can postpone polling until next week?

"Turd Herders" I think is officially off the board.
