Pretty good evening this evening. Gained access to a new piece, hunted and saw 6, my buddy saw 2, including 1 buck. Best so far this season.

glad its looking up taxi. Im officially posessed with button bucks and does [:@]every time i go out no matter where, its button bucks and does. In my 25 + years of hunting excluding my teen years, this is the longest i have ever went without seeing horn. I was in bucks major last season, i think the blue tounge hit us harder than i thought.[:@]

Glad to hear you caught the poacher Blood!

I had a really close encounter with a good buck that I rattled in on Sunday morning but couldn't seal the deal. I'll be out after work tonight with the ground blind on public land. The 1st 2 times I've seen shooters on it, so hopefully 3rd times' a charm. The bucks seem to be getting into the rut pretty good, here in KS. Good luck to you all hunting!

Thanks. Yes, Casi filmed him posturing to fight a young buck, and then go on a dead run right toward us. But of course he had torun to the side of the tree where all the branches were at. [:@] He's wasn't a Giant... a 5X5 framewith a split browtine, probably145ish. So I wasn't extremely disappointed, as there's still a lot of hunting left in the season for some bigger boys. :D

Sonds like a rush Kansas :)glad your season is looking up! good luck with the big boys. Well the tabu has finally been lifted, i actually seen a buck this morning :)He was a 1.5- 5 point Hanging around with a doe at 15 yards from my stand this morning for about 20 minutes. looking for something bigger :)Normally i would shoot nothing under 3.5 years old ,but with the way our season is going, a good 2.5 will do this season. I did some scouting on some new ground yesterday and jumped a respectable buck from his bed, he did not spook to bad and acted confused about what got him up and walked off. He was bedded on the top of a half dried slough ditch. I walked the ditch and found a major crossing, set up there yesterday evening and had deer sneak in on me when i was letting my bow down at quitting time (busted :D) Set up there this morning and that is where the small buck and doe came in on me. also had 14 hen's around me and one was bearded. just lettin you guys know what is going on. good luck!!

Blood.. Good to hear, you've finally seeing bucks. Sounds like you found a good spot. Things should only get better.

Unfortunately, I didn't see anymore deer on public land. With the time change this weekend I'm probably done hunting that area. I scouted adifferent spot last night near dark and saw a couple bucks lightly sparring (small 8 &140ish 10ptr)and a couple other deer (toofar away to seewhat they were) on the far side of the field. It's one of those areas which normally doesn't hold deer, until the rut.! So i'll be giving that a try tonight with a decoy & double bull blind.
