There you go kid!!!
Now thats old school 30-30 iron sites, not many kids out there like you thats for sure! I bet your folks are proud and the boys that hunt in your area better start asking dad for permission to take you out, because they will soon find out there are very few like you in todays world!

fantastic job!

looks cold!

RE: He got him!

Yah it was pretty cold here today ,with a bit of spitting rain too which didnt help at all. I think the lows were around 30 and the high was 40 or something close to that who knows.

I love that gun though, it was my grandpas back in the day:). Winchester model 94 with one of the bullets my grandpa made waaaaayyy back. I bet he is proud, too bad I didnt get to know him better. Thanks everyone, good luck to you all..Lets get some points on the board!

Hey team. Sorry I havn't been checking in much lately. Well I was at our farm in Eastern Montana Thursday-Sunday. I had my mind made up that I was going home with my deer and call the season quits to start shooting some birds. Well I did just that. On Saturday evening I sat ina new stand and within 20 minutes a little, 4x4 came by at 10 yards. I put the slick trick through him, made the maaa maaa sound about four times, he stoped with in 20 yards of me and fell over. With him in site, I decided to see if I could fill my doe tag. About 20 minutes later she came by at 30 yards, another slick trick and a 40 yard death run later and both my tags were filled in 20 minutes. It was a great weekend. Tons of deer, although no shots at any big bucks, my wife Amy missed a nice 130+ class 5x5 Sunday morning. Now she really has the bug. She shot her bull this year and is really upset about missing the deer. So we are heading back this weekend to see if she can get one on the ground. My buck is the smallest I have ever shot. I will post pics and the score tomorrow. Good luck to everyone else.

Congrats to everyone who has been putting meat on the table. I saw the biggest buck of my life last night coming home from my dads house. He was standing right next to the road. Since it was a back road with no traffic, i put the headlights on him and stared for about 5 minutes. He is a main frame 10 pt with about 10 inch G2's and probably 8 or 9 inch G3's. He seems to have pretty long brow tines also. I'm guessing he has a 18-20 inch inside spread because his main beams went out past his ears a couple of inches. Beautiful buck. I dont hunt that area but it was great to see something like that. I have been seeing deer everywhere lately. This colder weather really has them out.

Tony-That is one heck of a buck! What did he score? The mount looks great too.

HYDE 11-14-2007 10:35 AM

RE: He got him!

Well team here he is. He is not huge, but will add some points to the board. It is technically a 3x4, with the 4th point on the right side less than 1 inch. My question is about the scoring how many of the circumference
measurements do I take? I have one score sheet that I took 4 circumference
measurements for both sides and another that I took 4 circumference
measurements for the 4 point side and 3 for the 3 point side. Which
is correct? There is a 4th point present but since it is less than 1
inch it is technically not considered a point.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hey team, when you all get a chance, please check out the post I made in the bowhunting gear review forum on Enigma camo. I really can't say enough good things about Chuck and his products. If any of you are looking for new camo, I strongly urge you to give Chuck a call.

We had our gun season start yesterday and I managed to take this one at about 3:00 in the afternoon. He won't help our team any, but I though you guys/gals would like to see him. As an interesting side note, he had about 20" of arrow sticking out of his back. It had gone through at a quartering away angle through a vertebrae. He did not appear to be bothered by it as he was chasing does when I shot him.

RE: 38 - Official Team Rack Em Up Thread

Wow great buck. Too bad he dont count for the team. So he was shot before? I bet the guy who shot him was disgusted with himself for not being able to find that deer, I know I would be. Congrats again!!!

RE: 38 - Official Team Rack Em Up Thread

Thanks! Hopefully I'll get to arrow one of the larger ones that have been giving me the slip. I would imagine the person who stuck this one is still sick over not recovering him. I wish I knew who it was so that I could let them know.

Well I got 2 doe's and a nub buck during the gun season here in Wisconsin. 1 doe (160 lbs) was during the traditional 9 day season and the other 2 were in the CWD area which is open until Dec 9. Found out 15 guys did a deer drive on the land I bow hunt. They must of tresspassed on the adjacent property because I see new DO NOT HUNT signs.
1 sign seems to be on the farm I hunt so I am going to chat with the owner of the other property. Nobody got anything on the drive but this is not good because usually the deer hideout on that other property and still gives me a chance in Dec n Jan. They did not drive the north end of the property so their is hope.
This other piece of property I hunt the owner allowed some hunters in during the gun season and 3 bucks were killed so this it not good either. Just hate putting the time in and have it come to this.
It has been a weird season as I have not seen many bucks at all but seem to be hunting harder. I will stay at it and chat you all soon.
