I will try my best to make you all proud, and hopefully not disappoint you guys.

We'll let you off the hook this time, since you were "busy" getting things ready for the season. Anything else and it wouldn't have been acceptable. [8D]
Now all we ask is that your hard work comes to fruition. . .in the form of a large antlered deer. . .preferably 160” +

Come on boys, we need to start talking in here, lets chat about our game plans for this season. Do you have any new promising spots?, or trying something different this year?

This might sound stupid but this year I vow not to hunt a stand location based on "gut feeling".
Opening day of my November season in Wisconsin last yearI saw a MONSTER 13 pointer. For the next 6 days, I hunted the same stand because I had a "gut feeling" that he would be back. Unfortunately I never saw him again.
I feel like I truly missed out on the rest of my land and possibly other big bucks.
This year it all changes.

Hey, there is a thread asking for who the team captains are. I noticed ours was blank. Do we want to do elections or should we just give it to fieldmouse? I am open to suggestions.

Hey guys sorry for the absenteeism. I say we give the captain to mousey...
As for my plans for the season... I'll be hunting all over Oklahoma and several places in Texas. I'm looking for a 130+ deer, but we'll see what happens. I spend the majority of my time in NW oklahoma out around the panhandle, but I've got some other places that we're going to try out this year.
MD, don't totally give up on that gut feeling... it's proven to be successful as many times as it's been unproductive for me!

I too vote for the Mouse as team captain.
I'm glad everyone is present and it seems like we have a good balance of guys...
My main goal is to get out more this year with my bow. I just hope my "everyday" life will allow it. I have a ton of changes coming into my life this season. . .so bear with me guys.
I have scored in past seasons with my shotgun during gun season here in IL, I am still waiting to get my first deer with my bow. I am excited to see what the season holds, even with my limited hunting schedule.
Anyone else deal with limited hunting schedules and how do you work around it? I am hoping in years to come I can plan more and more hunts. . .but with a young family and another baby on the way, along with work and school, it is just tough to find free time.
On a promising note though, I am excited about the woods I get to hunt. I have two different woods to hunt, one I haven't hunted before and I plan on running and gunning on that piece of property. The land closer to my house has a nice pinch point and plenty ofhardwoods to give deer ample cover. Along with that, a creek runs through the heart of the woods, and corn surrounds the woods as well. I am excited about that!

I am also really excited about the up come season, and have already put alot of work into it. It starts Oct 1ST here in Michigan. I have alot of changes this year that will hopefully pay off. I have completely changed all my stand locations so every area is new to me, but I have a good feeling about the spots, I already have alot of promising activity at my main stand. I hunt to different areas of Michigan one is in Houghton Lake and I have 2 stand locations there, and the other/main area is in Au Gres, and I have 3 stands here. So heres to a good season, and a SAFE season. Good luck fellas

Don't worry buddy. Everything you say sounds stupid!!! And obviously your gutdoesn't work either

I have a gut feeling that the only big deer you will see will be shot by your Uncle, dad, or me!!
