I'm out in the morning as well. If it's raining hard I may wait until mid-day and hunt...shake things up a little. Would have been a miserably wet day in the stand today...I stayed home and handed out halloween candy instead tonight. I have a good feeling I'll get a shot this weekend, just don't know if I'll pass or not.
Full Moon. Activity should be good. Rut should be starting around here.

Yesterday was kind of a bust. Sat the same stand as Fri evening a week ago (on a big tract of land). It was still pouring down the rain, so I waited until it let up some (around 8am). Went out and hunted until about 11:30. Only saw one doe. Hung another stand in a thicket.
This morning was better. Saw 2 bucks at 10 yds (both were small) and about 8 does.I sat a new stand this morning about 10 yards from 2 cedar trees that were as bid a my leg and horned to pieces. This is the same little wood lot that I saw the big one in the first weekend. I don't think he was the one tearing up those cedar trees though as he had really white horns. I figure there must be another big boy with darker horns running around as well...plus the two twin 8 points. We'll see. I can't wait until they cut all the surrounding corn
It was windy this morning. Had to hold on to the tree from time to time...always makes everything more interesting
. I hate more than a 5mph wind while sitting in a tree. 10-20mph today[:'(]. Out again on Tuesday morning.
Hope you had a good weekend bigjim. How was it?? Anybody else??

Sat. night was windy and rainy i almost got down twice but i stuck it out and ended up having a decent 8 point ten yards from me but he was straight on with me so i never even drew my bow. he looked right up at me and bobbed his head a few times and turned around and and headed up the field. so im guessing he wasnt spooked. hopefully i can get out by wed. working out of town the next couple days.. well good luck to everyone i'll let you know if anything exciting happens

Sounds like everyones weekend was pretty good except for the weather. I had a really good weekend. On Saturday morning I saw 8 bucks (agood 9 point, big 8 point, five small 8 points, and a 4 point)and 2 doe. Only 2 of the bucks were in range and neither one would have scored over 100. Then on Saturday evening I saw 4 bucks and 1 doe. I shot a hen turkey about 15 minutes after I got in my tripod Saturday evening. Pictures will be coming as soon as my buddy sends them to me. Sunday morning was very good. I had 14 different bucks come within 30 yards. Some of them came before shooting light, the moon was full enough for me to see them. The 9 point we have on camera came in and hung out for about an hour. He is a shooter but I didn't shoot him because I had a bigger buck sneaking around but but he never offered a shot. My buddy shot a 9 point. Wasn't real big but it was his firstdeer with a bow. He said there was a lot of ground shrinkage when he walked up to it. Oh well I was proud of him. I will be headed back downas soon asI can. Rifle season starts this weekend but I wont be picking one up.
