Well fellas, it looks like I'll be the first in a stand with a weapon for team SBD. I'll be out there tomorrow. I just got done looking at Weather.com and in the morning we will have a SSW wind which isn't perfect, but good for the stands we want to hunt. A coin toss will determine whether I get the money stand in the morning or another stand, but either way it's a good spot. In the evening we'll have a south wind which is good for the stand I plan on hunting and we'll have some thunderstorms moving in so we should have some deer on the move. Hopefully, I'll get my earn-a-buck tag filled in the morning so I can look for some horns in the evening.

Wish me luck.
Good Luck!!!

Get your doe then shoot a big one HuntingBry!

Hey guys-
I got skunked this morning.
I have plenty of nice bucks on my trail cam by my stand, but think I got screwed by 3 dogs that came by my stand about 8am and seemed to be scouring the woods I was hunting.
I left around noonish because it was just too darned hot out today!

Well guys, nothing down yet. It was very hot out and the soybeans are still green so the deer are staying on them. The beans also happen to be on the property around us that is unhuntable. The morning was very uneventful with the exception of a racoon that was wandering around and a squirrel that I almost had to swat out of my tree (it wasn't until he was on my pack that he realized something wasn't right).

The evening looked promising as I jumped a doe and a fawn as I passed the old farmhouse on the way in. Then I saw a nice 8 point on the way to the stand that would well exceed my personal NJ 100" minimum. As I sat in anticipation during the "magic hour" around 7:27, I caught some movement on the hill and it was a pony tail clad pedestrian power walking. So, with a sigh I reserved myself to the fact that these are the troubles you face when hunting property also used by runners, mountain bikers, and equestrians. I waited a little to see if he would push anything to me (even though it is more likely he would push any deer away from me) and then got down.

All in all it was just good to get out and be in the woods again, even if I was drenched in sweat by the time I got in the stand. I will be going out again Tuesday so there should be less activity, so hopefully I'll have some better results.

BTW, Elk I like the avatar above, thanks.

Hey guys, I'm having trouble loading the avatar. I've resized it to around 110 x 110 pixels and it's only 8 kb, but I'm still getting an error saying the file is too big.

Any ideas?
