It has gotten hot and muggy here again. Kind of sucks when you have the itch. Still seeing lots of deer out in the plots. I still need to get as couple ground blinds out yet.
We are still missing one so I would imagine Rob will replace soon.

Yeah we got a little storm yesterday which was good. It washed my fertilizer into the ground for my little "in the woods" plot. If I can get a good guarenteed scheduled rain soon I'll plant my foodplot. It's just kind of an experimental plot, I planted it back in June, just to see what would grow, and it grew awesome but then we got a week of striaght HARD rain and it drowned it. It had grown about 6inches in 2 weeks, it was a mix of "No Plow", oats, and clover. This time I think I am going to do some Throw N Grow, Shot PLot, and some No-PLow. That gives me a good little blend in it. I'm going to throw some more 13-13-13 down when I plant too, maybe spruce it up again when it gets a couple inches out of the ground. I think this time around, weather permitting, will produce pretty well. The deer LOVED the clover in the no plow. They absolutely mowed it down. It's not a very big one but it does the job. THis picture is back when I had just cleared it and planted it the first time.

Looks like a great spot Cougar. I planted oats, clover and turnips in a plot between some apple trees that runs about 100 yards long. Figure on putting a blind under one of the apple trees with a view down the length of the plot.

I'm tilling up the spot Sunday! Last time we just used rakes and a hoe. I'm getting kind of excited now, any of you guys have some suggestions on what I should plant? What do you think will grow best?

I love to plant canola. High in protein. The beats are good late in the year in WI. You can never go wrong with clover(red). The deer never seem to leave it. Rape(sp) is good.
I have had my plot sinceMay and it has been a good producer. The beats were planted later though.

It wont be long now.
