30-Official Team Dirty 30 Thread

Archery starts September 15th here in Mn, followed by shotgun on Nov 3rd, and Muzzleloader, Nov 24th.
The power tec is ok,when i first shot this bow i fell in love with it. After awhile the more i shot it the less comfortable i felt shooting it. When i tried it out at the proshop they had a string loop on the bow - which is ok but i had never used one before, i always liked hooking up directly to the string. So i bought the bow and decided I wanted to take the loop off of it but shortly realized it only goes up to a 29 in draw length - With my old bow I was set at 30 1/2 and was very comfortable. So I was forced to keep the loop on to extend my drawlength a bitand I think thats where my insecurities come from. But other than that its been a great bow - accurate, quiet and very smooth to shoot.so a long story short I think I will be trading up in the near future. I have the bow maxed out at 70lbs, I am shooting Beeman Ics 400 arrows with 100 gr tips. Chronoed at the shop at 276 fps.

Thanks for the birthday wishes!
FF/EMT: You are always better off with a loop IMO because that puts your release directly behind the arrow, eliminating any nock pinch and string torque. I would definitely recommend you looking into getting a different bow if you can swing it, to get one in your real draw length. Using the loop to adjust teh draw length is ok for a temporary thing, but you will greatly improve your shooting if you have a bow that fits you better. I'm guessing you could get rid of your power tec pretty easily, and get into a Bowtech! J/K, I shoot Bowtech,l so I always push that way.

I'm going to be doing my homework a little better this time - I told myself I'm done with the brand loyalty and I'm gonna find something that I'm 100% confident with, so the bowtech hasn't been scratched off the list yet.
Any of you guys use a "no peep" or similar device? I used one last year, just wondering if you guys had any thoughts on it.

Morning guys, spoke with a friend last night and he put me on to a guy that has some AMAZING property, and no one to hunt with. How sad...for him! So, today I should be talking to this guy and getting permission to hunt his land. It is across the county road from a public hunting area, basically a sanctuary, and only this landowner hunts it. I'm so pumped!

Glad to hear it Yooper.
This is kinda like what I was talking about with using the 30 to make a bow and target. But get someone with skill to use a real bow drawing and etc. Just a thought.
