What's up guys? I got mixed up in the problems they had here in the forumwith getting booted and not being able to post so I just chilled out for awhile.

Season opened the 8th so I was out both the8th and 9th in the morning and got busted both days, had at least 5 around me Sat. morning but all I could see for sure was doe although I do think I got a big boy in there because I happened to glance to my rightduring the initial bustand all I caught was a big wide dark/gray backside slithering away, hugging the ground like a snake (Back in NY I'v seenthem doing that through the thick laurel). I'm sure (I'm hoping buck) it's an older deer because all the doe I saw (got busted Sun. as well by 1 who alerted her side kick) have been really bright/almost orangish tanunlike this one.

I stayedout of there all weekand went back inSat. and saw nothing but know they'll be back eventually.After taking a differant route out this Sat. I realize I'm right on the edge of what looks to be a big bedding area so I'll take any advice or opinions on how ya'll think I should utilize this place.

As for getting busted I'm not surprised, I do the scent free wash, change once I get parked and spray down but it was still so hot/humid that by time I got in and set up those 3 days I was drenched through 100%. A good note though is that the weather broke yesterday and broke big time, it felt like fall and is supposed to continue that way for a bit.

Hey TN Deer Hunter I see you asked for the scent spray recipe, did you make any up and if so what do you think? I mixed a batch up myself.

Yooper sounds like you could have came out worse than you did. Were you wearing a harness and thats why you hit your stomach? If that was the reason then good for you for wearing it. Everyone be safe out there we dont want to lose any of you! I hope i will be posting pics of some big deer here in about 20 minutes as my dad got my cam back from the woods (im in college).

will guys just 4 days until opening the 22 boy I can not wait.. We planted 3 acres of food plots last wed. and thur. we planted 1 acre of biolgic green patch plus and 2 acres of australian peas and oats. so bring on the big ones

Buck, I was wearing a harness, I was playing with my lineman's belt, so that kept me close to the tree. Had I been higher, it would have worked perfectly, keeping me right there, so that is nice to know. Great buck pics too, hopefully you can get another pic of him and you together!

Glad to have you back BKE, the system has been really funky lately.

I turned my greenhouse room into a camo-hanging room this weekend. Put up some shelves and racks to hang all the clothes from. Everything in the fresh air, and no worry about rain. I thnk this winter I may turn that room into like a little hunting "camp" of sorts. Throw a TV, table, fridge out there. Not sure if the woman will go for that though. 13 more days, and I'll be in the tree! YES!!!!

Whats up guys! havn't posted for a few days, been really busy with work, school and some other comitments. YM good to hear your ok, well somewhat anyways. Whats it like to have 2 belly buttons? Don't feel to bad I did the same thing about 4 years ago and ended up tearing the meniscus in my right knee.

Well I made it out hunting Saturday morning. it was 28 degrees when I climbed into the stand and I thought I would have been covered up with deer, but I didn't see a single deer. But talking to a few other guys around here it sounded like the deer just weren't moving that well, kind of suprising with what the weather was like. Well I have the next three days off so hopefully I'll get a bit of hunting in.

Buckrogers those are some nice pics - hopefully you'll have a run in with that big boy.

Talondale - careful with that 3d leafy camo. make sure you wear an arm guard of some sort. I shanked a shot last year at a nice doe, when I released the arrow the string struck the the 3d leafs on my armand my arrow hit baout 5 yards in front of her on a 20 yard shot. Kind of my own fault though - I didn't practice with it from a tree stand, in a downward angle position.
