The first part of my season is shot already. I go a week from thursday for surgery on my shoulder. Means no bow action for at least 4-5 weeks. At least I"ll still have rut. I think that should be Rob and I 's motto

Went out yesterday afternoon for about an hour and saw one yearling doe but see didn't offer me a shot. I will be going out for an all afternoon hunt today. Hopefully a doe will offer me a shot today because I know that one of these times when I go out I will a shooter!

Couple more weeks here before MA starts. Went bear hunting Mon & Tues PM. Had a FREAK of a bear come in Monday right at dark. Made a big circle around me and wouldn't come in. Definate P&Y. He came to about 30 yards, but I did not have a clear shot. Could have taken him several times with the smokepole.
Awesome experience anyway. Didn't see anything last night.
That was my last time out this year. Family obligations the rest of the week.
Will hopefully make it down to CT next week some nights.
All local stands are looking good. Tons of sign. Corn starting to get cut. I'm getting very impatient.
