Hi again. Well I'm officially done buck hunting for the year. Got a real nice 3 1/2 yr old 8 pointer on sunday evening right at last light. I was using my muzzleloader again. I would post a pic for you but I can't get the stupid thing to work any more. My pic shows up while making the post but when I hit ok it disappears in the post itself. I don't know what's going on there. I've had my best year yet: 8 pointer in Kansas with my bow and an 11 and 8 here with my muzzleloader. Normally I do very well with my bow and struggle with a gun. I don't know what happened this year. I still prefer to hunt with my bow though. Anyway, good luck all and have a wonderful holiday season.

Hey Congrats!
You can email the picture to me or put it in our trophy gallery to get it online.

I got a doe with a shotgun on Saturday. My first Illinois gun-deer.

I'm still going to try and get a buck with my bow.

Great looking deer pjhunts. A big congrats to you.

I have still not had the luck that I hoped for. The big nine pointer that ShadowAce and I have been after has eluded us for some time now. This past weekend was a hectic one for me, not allowing me to get on stand one single time. Have no fear, I will be perched in the stand this weekend attempting to let the air out of something.

Here is a recent pic of "Bullwinkle". It looks as if the rut was a rough one on this big guy. He has dropped some serious weight, but not in the rack area.

Well this weekend will be my last chance at a deer. Hopefully I can withstand the cold on saturday and stay out all day. I will only be able to go out until about 12 on sunday though because we are celebrating christmas late

That's a real nice 9 pointer! Keep us posted. Happy holidays to all and good luck. The last part of season can be very rewarding(sure be nice if it would get cold though).

I sat and didn't see a darn thing. I don't know of the wind was wrong (was just a very slight breeze) and it felt like I was walking with boards strapped to the bottom of my feet when I got down and started walking. There was a good trail coming through the fresh snow that we had got a couple of days before. And you could see that they had been munching on the acorns.

Well, our season has ended here and once again I have to fix a nice pot of buck tag soup. Oh well. I did not see "Bullwinkle" once while on stand, but I did see several 1-1/2 & 2-1/2 year olds that will hopefully be around next year.
