I saw 1 big old doe last night but she didn't offer a quality shot. I'm seeing some good deer movement this year and the number ofdoes is really encouraging when things start heating up. I haven't even set foot in my best stands yet. So I'm very optimistic.

How bout some of our other guys..Give us some updates.

I am getting a little antsy now. The area that I saw the 4 8s in borders another property that will be getting rifle hunted in a couple of weeks--and possibly muzzleloader this weekend. BTW, I am not opposed to rifle--I hunt with one as well, just know that this area that I am committed to bowhunting for the entire season is going to be changing real quick. I do have a lot more of this property that will not be affected by the rifle pressure,so I plan to shift my emphasis to those areas.I would really like a crack at the biggest I've seen where I am now. I talked to the landowner, and he said that the ones I saw were younger, probably 2 1/2 year olds--and he is probably right, and that there are several bucks that go 3" outside their ears that he has seen. I want to make a contribution to the team---as much for my Dad as anything---but not solely for that reason, because you guys are pretty good fellas, as well. So, I am a little perplexed about how to proceed. I feel the need to score, but know that there are better bucks that will show up as the rut comes on, but am getting close to some decent bucks. I only have 2 buck tags, and I will fill one with my gun at my club, so I am faced with, score now, or wait and take the risk of not getting one later, or scoring on one of the older class deer that reportedly are on this land. From what I 've seen, the deer numbers are certainly there, and with the number of does, and light hunting pressure, the bucks will be there during the rut--so I am feeling a little ambivalence. I just want to make a good contribution to you guys and for my Dad--and don't want to settle for just any old buck. Sorry for the 'book', --I just wanted ya'll to know where I am with this thing.

Manu..First and foremost take the buck that you are proud of...As a team we are proud just to have our team-mates out there hunting safely and ethically (and you know, that's what Dad would be most proud of also.. seeing how his teachings and your growing knowledge have progressed into making you the Man and Hunter you are today).

We support and will be proud of any buck you take. This whole contest thing is just another way to have fun and interact with other hunters. It's not like we all win new Hummer H2's.

Please do not let this contestchange anything about the way you hunt. This goes for all team members..believe me, we all want and hope for Pope And Young but the reality is 99% will get less, and as long as you are proud of it..We are with you.

Besides if we all scored on say 80-class deer we'd still win this thing!

Thanks for sharing Greg, we hear you. Go in the woods and be thankful to have the opportunityto makechoices like that. As long as you are happy (with any decision), we'll be happy with you :)!

What?!? We don't win Hummers?

Manuman, you shoot what is right for you. There's no one on this team who thinks that's not the right way to do it.

When I hada 180 class buck anda 90 within range at the same time, I figured the big one would just be too tough, so shot the small one. Oh wait a minute, that was just a bad dream.

What the.... Where did my avatar go?

What? An avatar thief on top of everything else?:DI hit a new low tonight. I went out at 6, and found the rub line I knew would eventually appear, and set up with the wid right, and plenty of cover. 7:20, I hear footsteps, and they're directly behind me. I am poised and ready---when my cell starts buzzing!!!!![:@]I had it on vibrate, but the woods were so calm and quiet that it stil was very loud---and you guessed it--busted!! It was an emp[loyee that I told to check in at 8, and he calls early and at the worst possible second!!! Oh well!! I hope he has fun in the unemployment line!!;):D
