I like team unleashed as well.

On another note, got a call this morning from a buddy of mine saying that he was driving to work and saw a monster, said it must have been atleast a 140 inch deer, which for this part of the country is a monster. He saw it about 5 miles from the closest spot we hunt, but stranger things have happened, maybe he might decide to go on alittle vacation come the rut. A guy can wish cant he?

Hey team 9- Unleashed

I'm just checking in, sorry I was out on an elk scouting trip.

Here's a little about me. I'm 31, been bowhunting for 4yrs is all, taken 2 small bucks and 3 does. This year we've got some better ground, I hunt in South Dakota from end to end. I will have more time this year to hunt and plan on focusing on getting a big buck this year, no shooting a little one this year. I like the turn out so far from the team and hope we can kick some serious ace!

Anyone talented enough to figure out how to make one of those sigline banners for us???? I'm sure not.

Well guys I got to tell you this there is a 140 class buck and a 130 class buck and some 110-120 class buck where i will be hunting my first year I will be hunting with my brother who is on team 21 deermenators. Well wish me luck on my first year of archery on getting the big ones.

i'm hunting several places this year. My uncles farm in Mt Vernon Illinois. its a 1300 acre farm has some absolute monsters. Im hunting some public land that ive been hunting all my life. which has some pretty nice deer on there if you know where to go. I;m also on 3 other leases. 350 acre lease has some decent size ones. a 900 acre lease who has a lot of deer on it but alot of people hunt it. and a 350 acre lease which has 5 deer ive seen over 150 inches..

Well this is just the one deer i got last year. But my first year I did get a four point. But this is my first year archery but i've been doing good hitting kill shots.

Yep. Just haven't shot any deer yet.Planning on spending a couple nights out hunting with Rob (KodiakArcher) next weekend. BUT... if I get his shot on video... I WONT let him use it for extra points for the guys! :)

How are we team, the season just started hear in jersey this past sat. I didnt get to make it out cause of a fishing trip, but i got out this morning. Long story short, had a basket rack come under me at first light, passed on him and then had a velvet spike come in at 7:30. A beautiful morning to be out in the woods and a great start to the season. I was hoping to take down a doe, but ill have to wait till next time. The good news is that according to the landowner where i was hunting, there are 3 really nice bucks out there and i know that the main frame 10 with drop tines i saw last year is still out there. I talked to a hunting partner of mine who was hunting on 50 acres that i own and he said that on sat he saw a pig, couldnt tell how big the rack was but it would have went 175 pounds, which for jersey is a hog. He also passed on a 105-110 inch deer cause he knows there is bigger. He said that last monday he was out hanging another stand and when he was driving out, he saw what he said was the biggest buck of his life, only 15 yards off the road too. Said it would have easily went 130 inches and maybe in the 140s as a perfect 8 point, so there is potential for a great fall, i just got to put it all together. Realistically though i would be happy with a 110, but its nice to know that there are bigger running around.:D

Hey team 9. Just chequeing in and I guess no other team wants me so your stuck with me,.......... left overs. ;)
A little about meself is I livenear the B.C. and idaho border in nw montana in the kootenai national forest. In living here in the bushand I see deer every day, some elk, some moose and some bear, not too many humans and I like it just like that.
Due to the wifes health issues I won't be able to hunt until the beginning of oct., but will hunt everyday till the end of nov, last week in nov. being when the rut peaks out. I have 11 treestands in place and the bow is zeroed in for the shot.
This is the 3rd yr. I been in this contest and was fortunate to be on the Elite 8 team for the past couple years. I might go a week or so without logging in but its not because I'm not hunting, thats where I am. This is when my busy season is, hunting in the morning and bucking up firewood in the afternoon and sit back in a stand in the P.M.

Went out hunting on wednesday afternoon and like a kid at christmas, i couldnt wait to get in my prime "rut" stand. I should have known better since the deer are all up in the oak trees now, but i had to do it. Well i didnt see a thing and my buddy went up into a section of the oaks and was covered up in deer, does, fawns and some small bucks but no shooters. Going to go out this afternoon if the rain stops, which it should and then hunt all day tomorrow, weather permitting again. Hopefully monday morning ill have something good to report.

Thanks njbuck. Sounds like your the only one chequein in and keeping usupdated on the hunts. Even though I'm not hunting right now I did see a 4x5 and a 5x5 ( twins) in velvet come through the yard here and pay me a visit as I'mbuilding this kabin making as kinds of noise. I think these were the same twins from last year and they were only little forkies then. I don't shoot deer on my property cause there kinda like pets and many mornings deer are 10 ft from my front door when I wake in the morning. But stupid me will drive 6 miles and hike 2 or 3 miles into the bush and shoot a doe ( drawn "B" Tag ) and bust me arse dragging it back and dealing with the elements. I kind of wonder about my logic about that. :eek:
Whats everyone esle doing? Scouting, hunting or out of the contest? At least let us know if your still alive.
Also, does anyone know who are captain is? I havent recieved my gift package for signing on this team. ;)

Hope everyone had a good weekend. Mine was good, but not what i was hoping for. Ended up hunting on friday afternoon, saw a couple of deer, but if it wasnt for bad luck i would have had no luck at all. I was out to kill a doe or a nice buck and all the does i saw came in to my setup and a spike came out of nowhere and chased them all off. Right before dark a really nice 8 point came in that i was going to shoot, but it came in with a doe and a fawn and believe it or not, the doe chased the 8 pointer off, so no shots at any of them. Sat night i hunted a different property and saw 8 deer, all does and fawns and had 3 does and 3 fawns at 25 yards. Thought they were going to come in closer but it never happened. I was frustrated to say the least. Went out before work this morning and saw 9 deer. Only had a couple of fawns, 2 spikes and a small 6 point come in under me today, all the does stayed out of range. No shooter bucks seen. Im seeing plenty of deer but just havent been able to seal the deal. Hopefully this week, im really craving some backstraps.

At least your seeing deer njbuck. I don't know whenthe rut peaks out there but here it peaks out at the last week in november. Last year I past up on some nice ones antcipating a bigger one during the rut. The rut and the last week of hunting season coincide the same week. Needless to say I had to eat tag soup last year and I don't think I'll be as choosey this year. I like my elk hunting too butI won't do them at the same time.

ive been doing alot of scoutting and spot lightin saw some nice ones last nite. 140inch 10 120 inch 8... and probably a 100 inch 7 pointer <-- still in velvet.. but this 7 pointer was for sure a 1 1/2 yr old buck.. he is going to be a big boy in a year or two

We have no captain, we are a bunch of renegades goin huntin. Whom ever gets the biggest deer is captain. If people spent as much time hunting as they do in here they may have more points as opposed to wanting to be ruler. Lets get out in the woods and stop playing games.

My little bro who lives where I'll be hunting the opener this weekend said they saw 2 pope and young bucks near our stands while scouting last weekend. Hopefully I'll be trying to figure out how to post pics of one of them after this weekend!
