Well fellas and lady season starts tommorow! The weather is suppose to be cool and raining all weekend. I am going to try my first ever Mule deer hunt this weekend. I have heard that it is pretty dificult with a bow due to the fact of very little cover. I am still going to give it the old school boy effort though. If anyone elses season starts this weekend I wish you the best of luck. Lets get out there and get some big bucks and kick these other teams butts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shot my bow for the first time in quite a while today. My finger's bending enough to pull a trigger now.

I'm shooting a 3d shoot tomorrow; see if we can sharpen up in the short amount of time I have left.

I'm down to three arrows, so I dropped off an arrow with my local Mathews dealer. Unfortunately I found out he's gone until the 25th of September. Good grief. Guess I'll have to find some place else.

Took three squirrels with the .22 today - it ain't deer hunting, but it's not bad.

Well, it was pretty ugly at times, but I finally got it going. I shot a 350 out of a possible 400 which isn't good, but it isn't bad for not shooting for nearly three months and working through the injury and some unexpected equipment difficulty (had to adjust the sights during the shoot - apparently they were moved somehow).

By the end of the shoot I was pulling down more 10s than 8s. Out of 40 targets I missed one and had two body hits (5s); the rest were all 8s and 10s. I'll take it.

I also discovered my drop away rest is making noise - better now than during season. I'll have it fixedand ready to go.

Season finally started here on Friday. Opening day was a little slow, saw a few doe and that was it. Today was much better, I took a nice doe early this morning and this evening saw 4 bucks. I passed one 7 pointer that I probally should have shot, but I was over a mile from the truck and I told myself I wasn't going toshoot anything unless it was buckzilla. Felt great to be back in the woods, I think it's gonna be an awesome season.

well this weekend kicked off the start to another deer season. Along with this weekends events also came tornados. At about 5:30pm when I was climbing into stand the tree that I was in was almost blown over by the gale force winds!! needless to say I almost crapped my pants!! Later that night we were driven to the basement by the sound of the tornado sirens what a crappy way to start a season. Hope yall had better weather than I did!!

Sure am glad you're alright - you hang tough, lots of season left. Mine doesn't start until 1 October. Indiana's first ever youth season is this weekend - hope to get a doe in front of Casey Saturday morning (no bucks allowed during the youth weekend - stupid).
