Thanks guys.
Don't worry, I go to the woods excited about the hunt and what might happen, every time.
Like Uncle Ted says, "I'm cocked, locked and ready to rock"
It is supposed to rain all day tomorrow so that will be fun?
I'll be wearing my HD rain suit under my Enigma camo!
Monday it might finally snow, I love hunting in the snow.
I will be hunting land that hasn't been hunted for a few weeks now so the deer will not be expecting me(I hope).

Sat in 2 different stands today in the pouring rain.
Not fun.
Didn't see a single deer.
But, it's snowing out now so I will have fresh snow to hunt in the morning!

I hunted all day yesterday.
I sat in one of my climbers in the morning and only saw one doe, about 60 yards away.
When i got down I went over and checked the trail the doe had been on. I found another tree that would give me a good view of that trail and a couple more.
I had another climber in my truck so I went back and got the mighty Dodge and drove it in to the new tree. i put the climber on the tree and climbed up. I went about 23 feet up the tree and had a great view from there.
I left, went to town to grab an early lunch.
I got in my new tree at about 12:30
I did pull a bonehead stunt. I was about 3/4th of the way up when I looked down to see my bow, laying there on the ground, WITHOUT THE ROPE HOOKED TO IT! Arrrrrrrrg!
Back down I went, hooked up the rope and climbed up again.
By the time I got to where I want to be I was sweating like I just got done digging a well!
I stripped off a bunch of clothes and hung them on the branches to fry. Talk about stinking a place up!
I sprayed everything down with the homebrew scent spray and sprayed some on myself. After about 1/2 hour everything was dry so I got dressed again.
Not 20 minutes later I had a group of 4 does come to the fench behind me and 2 of them jumped over and headed for my tree. The 1st one was a small yearling but the second one was a "taker", I waited for a hole to shoot thru and released, WHACK! Not good. I hit a limb and the arrowed buried into the ground instead of the deer. I was bummed, after waiting and hunting hard for a shot this year and then to miss really sucked.
I sat there, beating myself up for about an hour.
At about 4:45 I had 2 more does come to the fence but they did not cross over to give me a shot.
Well, at least I am seeing some deer now.
I went out again this morning, to my hunting spot close to home, and saw one doe that also did not offer me a shot.
What a season!
I have next Sunday and Monday, then it's all over for this archery season.

Buell
Those dang branches huh![:@]That's the only down fall of useing a climber, not being able to clear all that is necasarry. But on the other hand your best shot will come in the 1st and 2nd usage of the location. Man I give you credit my freind, you have will power that most of us have relinquished thus far. Two more days should be a peice of cake for ya then[8D]. How did your rain clothing hold out during the rain you said you had ?
Well team I wish you all a Happy New Year, and to those still huntingI pray for your safety too and from your hunting grounds and God Bless.

I was fine in the rain, only my hands got wet. I need some gortex gloves I guess.
Usually this late in the season we don't have any rain but it has been too warm for much snow.
If I do not tag one this year it will not be from lack of effort!
