7 days, things are looking good. Seeing lots of stuff in the 100-120 range, seensome 120-135 or so, but then there area fewbig bruisers 140+ creeping around here and there also. Man I am ready to go,going crazy sitting around waiting for things to happen.

Looks like a good setup for that brush country Josh, wish you luck. It will be awhile before its time to rattle down there though.

Found him boysand girls, now just got to find a way to put him in rangeduring season. I know where he lives, but it's gonna be tough to get him without blowing him out of the country. Bucks like that don't visit feeders during daylight in our part of the world, gonna have to try some other non-conventional methods. Wish me lots and lots of luck.

He beds in a couple acres of thick nasty shinnery and plums right on the property line, on the side of a ravine, protected by the dominant winds, with a good field of view. No trees for stands, this is gonna play out on the ground. Gonna have to think about this real carefully, may just get one chance.

Nice Buck Critr-Gitr. I bet he's a smart one.
Good Luck in getting him. Sure would be nice to have that one on the board and wall.

The first thing I'm gonna try is set up a ground blind on the downwind side of his bedding area in some more open cover (not too close), set up a mock doe group bathroom area using lots of doe urine over a 30 x 50 yard area the night before to get him interested, and then try to bleat/grunt him into range the next morning. If it doesnt work that morning, I will try it again that evening just in case he was bedded down already and didn't want to move, and if that doesn't do itthen I'm outta there for a couple of weeks to let it cool off before I try something else, maybe a last ditch effort to mug him in his bedroom.

I have caught this boy on camera two different occasions, this time I got 8 shots of him. Same area as the 11, that doubles my chances.

Let the public flogging begin. I left my stand 30 seconds too early tonight. Literally, 30 seconds. I had got no more than 15 yards from my ground blind whenI saw him through an opening that was not visible from my blind. If I would have stayed where I was for half a minute he would have walked in the open right in front of me. As it was I played tag with him for a few minutes in the brush, and got himto full draw, 40 yards. But, the light was getting bad and I wasn't exactly sure of the range. I had my 40 yard pin on him, all I had to do was drop the string. I just wasn't sure enough of the exact range though, not 'till after he was gone. I didn't shoot.

Was he big? Oh yeah. Would have been my biggest ever. Wide and tall.

30 freakin seconds, I can't believe it.
