Official team #8 thread!!!
 

Well guys my season actually began this morning. We have a early urban zone season (archery of course) here in IN, but I don't really care to hunt in this heat. I'm sure I will go out soon though because I just can't wait to get in that stand! The problem I will have is if I shoot a buck during the archery season I can't shoot another one in gun, which would obviously be bad for our team score.

Hey your lucky your season has already opened. October 1st here, its been colder than it usually is for this time i think so ill probably be out the first morning.

Hey everyone, I'm checking in....hopefully I will get this off before my computer quits because I am having some issues with it at the moment. I too am in the archery contest, and because archery is my first love, I will be going for a buck with my bow first. Don't take that as a guarentee that I won't get a chance with my rifle though, because I only have one buck with my bow. I will however do my best to help out if I can. Well the computer is acting funny so I'm gonna post this now and when it gets fixed all be back.

Hey all. I am currently in archery season and my gun season doesn't start until the first friday of November. So I got a month or so to wait before I can shoot one with my rifle.

Hi everyone. Got my first deer of the season Fri. with my T/C Omega. Thought it was a small doe but turn out to be a button buck. I sure hated it. Oh well, I'm going out tomorrow with my 270 WSM. Maybe I can get to that big boy I've seen the last two times out.

Season starts in two weeks for me I cant wait. I have a few bruisers spotted. Now I just have to find them when I can have a rifle along.

Hey guys ML season came and went but i craped out on a buck i did shoot a 115 pound doe last sunday. Rifle season starts on the 19th maybe then!!

Just tagged a ten point and i rough scored him at 148 4/8. take a look.

I shot a nice 13 point (or 17 if you count the small 1" points on the base) last Friday. I'm hoping it scores around 140, it hasnice mass, but only 15" inside spread. As soon as I figure out how to post the pictures I'll get it on here. When it gets posted be sure to check out the 3rd main beam/drop tine antler it's trying to grow on his left side.

501, again, that it a fantastic buck. Make sure you send it to the "official" check in thread for them to post the pictures and scores. If mine scores what I think it might we should be in the lead.

Hey guys tagged a big 8 point last night. We rough scored him at about 134 and that is with his brow tines broke and a few tines broke on the left side. Will post pics in a few days.

Great job you guys!! I got picked to go on a special area hunt on Dec. 22, and there are some big bucks there. They only get hunted twice a year. If I don't already have one down with my bow by then, my ML will be out and we'll see if i can put my tag on a big boy!

If you can get your picture posted and your deer entered we will be close to the lead. The way it looks now is after jtm posts, we need one more deer of about any size for the lead. Good luck.

308, Very nice buck, congratulations. Is your muzz season in PA strictly traditional (no scopes, etc)? There is nothing like deer hunting in the snow.

BGHUNTER.....yea our late muzzleloader season is specifically for flintlocks with iron sights.
AND I LOVE IT that way.....inlines are way too much like centerfires to be considered a muzzleloader.

This was actually my second deer taken in any measureable amount of snow. It definitally make the dragging easier;)

Hey guys,
I BGHunter reminded me that I am on this team over in the blackpowder section. Asked me to post my bucks.
This one was from the evening of 14 Jan with my Encore 50 cal muzzle loader, taxidermist tells me he will score 130 or so even w/ the broken brow tine. He is supposed to give me the official green score when I pickup the jawbone this week.He is very wide. 19 1/2 inches wide and 22 and 19 1/2 inch main beams.

Measures 129 even. Loss of brow tine cost it going over well over 130.
