Good news, m season opens in less than 2 weeks. I went and did some scouting and I've got a huge bedding area right behind one of my old rifle stands. So I snuck in a little closer and hung my portable. I think I'm gonna be in good shape for there were a couple of beds that I couldn't cover and I'm 6'4" 300lbs. Anyway good look to all my Leftover teammates.

My season started this past weekend. I got to spend a whopping 2 whole hours on stand in 2 days. My hunting partner shot a friggin monster 25ft up in his porti straight down underneath him. He let er rip right between the shoulder blades and the broadhead was sticking out the sternum(spelling). It bled like a stuck hog for a 100 yards then bedded down. He then went after him before I could get to him (1 hour wait), jumped him out of a bed (full of blood), and we (4 of us) spent the next 6 hours before dark on our hands and knees trying to find blood. That evening 20 min before dark another of our guys took a 15 yard shot at a 6 pointer. We looked till blackness for blood and/or arrow, nothing. Went back the next morning found his arrow right away, clean miss. Back to the monster trailing we went. Long sad story short we never found him. It was a pretty somber afternoon when we realized that the buck of a lifetime was laying dead somewhere in our hunting area. Just goes to show you that (like the boys of Primetime Bucks say) "When in doubt, back out!!!!!" Me myself and I would have let the bruiser lay all day long in his bed. But, coulda, shoulda, woulda, I feel bad for my buddy. I bet he doesn't make that mistake again. I'm headed back out this weekend for some more action. Hopefully, this time, it will be my turn. GO TEAM 28!!!
