Dear team,
I regret to inform you of my inept ability to take down an awesome whitetail on saturday december 3rd, 2005. My evening was perfect.. snow showers began at 3 p.m. and I was in stand at 2:30 p.m.
At 4 p.m. three bucks appeared about 80 yards away. After a tending grunt followed by a SOFT doe balling bleat the biggest buck headed towards me. At only 9 yards my arrow hit armor... "thwack"! I penetrated about ten inches through the shoulder bone.
The next morning I returned to only find 2 beds with little blood in them. Although I am certain this deer will not make it much longer it sickens me to not have found this deer!
He was a very good deer that would have walked into Pope & Young.

I'd be bringing out a chair and sitting in a field close to where you had shot the buck and watch for yotes or ravens .They'll lead you to your buck. Sorry to hear about your misfortune,it happens to the best of hunters. Sounds like you definately have that buck down if you got 10 inches into the shoulder. You really only need a4 inch penatration to reach the lungs through the shoulder to get a kill in. Seen it and done it. Hold your head high bud.
Take Care and God Bless
