Those bucks would add 100" or so to the team total. Not bad!

Good luck!

hey guys, well i am done with classes for the week and after work tonight i am headed home to get my gear. Headed out again this weekend to see if i cant stick one. I am having the most eventfull season yet, seeing deer every day. I have been waiting for the right shot, and not missing to get one. I have been at this for 3 years now and have yet to tag one, but no worries, this year is mine, i have done all my homework on the deer and i think i get it now. Now its up to me to make the shot.

Good luck ya'll

Well i was on the stand last night and watched the same three does, a ways out. Well this time i brought my camera. I figure if these does come in all the time, when the rut rolls around they will be followed by a buck.

I get a doe tag as well so maybe i can get a shot at the big one!!!

Good luck ya'll we will see what happens tonight!

Got skunked this morning(Illinois Opening Day)

Took my 6 year old son out tonight for his first deer hunt. We sat in a cornfield overlooking an alfalfa field.

Got in a bit late because I knew my boy couldn't stay still for 3 hours like I like to sit.

In place at 5:40. Doe and triplets walks out of the corn about 40 yards away. They feed in the alfalfa for 20 minutes or so. My boy is asking when I'm gonna shoot them? After much explaining, he understands they are just a bit too far for a good shot.

About 6:15 an 8 point two year old came out at 100 yards and fed for another 15 minutes.

In the meantime, my son fell asleep in his chair leaning against my hand.

No deer but lots of memories.

I'll be back out tomorrow.

Good luck all!

LLBUX
Those will be treasured memories, wish my son would take up hunting. He loves the outdoors but chooses not to hunt. Enjoy it while it last LLbux as they tend to slip away as they find out what girls are all about.LOL. I get to start hunting for a week every day come Monday morning. Was going to go out tonight but it rained hard all day not letting up. Weatherman said it could turn to snow, that would be a blessing if it does. Good luck hunting folks and God Bless.

Tyler had a habit of falling a sleep also when I would take him out. Great memories are made when you take the time to take the kids along. Glad to see you sharing hunting with your son.
