I guess I'll be going out in the morn fella's ,look's like the wind is finally droping and the temp's are cool ,so we'll see what the morn bring's .I've got the alarm clock set for 5:30 A.M.

I won't try the new stand for a few day's ,I'll give the area a chance to quieten down and hopefully my scent will dissappear.

Guy's !

Just returned from my morning's hunt ,the wind was still a bit heavy this morn and I wasn't able to hear too well ,but I did see 2 doe's and 2 fawn's this morning. 9:00am I got out of my stand because of not being able to hear ,so I went for a walk just up the dirt road to see if anything had come out after the motocross comp.I noticed that a good size buck had come out from the property that I was hunting and walked into the field across from me .I followed it carefully and then walked the perimeter of the property ,as I returned I noticed that 2 deer had crossed the road down wind from me,a doe and fawn were standing in the field across from me about 150yrds away .I'm notinterested in taking a doe or fawn at this time because I have a doe tag only for another WMU so I continued up the road, that's when I see another doe and fawn crossing the other side of the field directly toward's me ,this time the wind is in my favour ,soI just stopped and drew ,within second's the Doe was standing within 20yrds in front of me broadside ,I had my pin on her ,but knew that I wasn't about to take her at this time ,then the fawn proceeded to jump onto the road in front of me and I put the pin on it as well ,again I could have taken the fawn as well. When they finally turned toward's me and noticed me standing there they both took off up the road and hit the trail leading to my treestand .I followed them directly under my stand within 10yrds .But all in all it wasn't too bad a hunt this morning ,but for now I'm looking for a good buck ,so maybe Wed night will be the day .
Good luck everyone and hope someone bag's one soon for us .

Sounds like you had a good hunt its great to get that close to them on the ground.

Ive had the same problem with the moon and warm weather the deer just dont want to move and I need them to get some of this corn out . Its realy going to start getting good here on out.

My good friend ratttled in a young buck this weekend I think I will try to do some myself this week.

Hope you all get to get out this week . Good luck all!!

I seen horn's ,I seen horn's LMAO Just a spike horn with about 14" spike's but it did have the first horn's I've seen this season. This evening the wind was very high again and at one point was considering getting out of my stand once again ,I'm really getting ticked with all the high wind's this week ,it's really put a cramp on my hunting this season thus far .Although the wind let up a little near dusk and that's when I seen 2 deer on the dirt road and one of them had horn's ,i watched them walk up the road toward's my truck and figured that they just might go the other direction ,but before I knew it they were walking along the field in front of me about 80yrds out ,finally they turned and walked directly in my direction ,at this point because of the wind's consistantly changing direction's ,I was afraid they would wind me a bugger off in a hurry, they got to within 20yrds of me and I knew that at anytime I could take this little spike ,he was broadside to me for about 3 minute's ,but at this time I'm not using my buck tag on a spiker in order to score 40 or 50 inch's for the team ,espeacially when I know there are lot's of buck's in the 120 or 130 range .Anyway's I figure the young doe winded me because she started to trot across the field in the same direction they had came from and the young spiker followed her immediately . Sorry for not taking this little guy ,but it's a long season and I know I'll be seeing much bigger and better buck's before too long .I'm not sure oif I'll get out in the morning ,but my plan include's another evening hunt .In the 4 time's I've been out I've now seen 24 deer this season while hunting,I'm sure I'll see plenty more .

Guy's!

I was out tonight and thing's looked to be perfect ,the wind was silent the sun was out ,and the temp's were dropping ,but never seen a hair ,i'm not sure whether it was just too nice or the dirt bike's were out again .These guy's just have no idea what's going on in our forest's ,but i guess they have a right to be there as well as we do .
I was in my stand and about 5:30 pm It felt like thunder ,it was soo bad that i grabbed ahold of the branch on the tree that my stand was in ,I've never ever experienced anything like it ,it continued for about 30 second's and the ground and the tree's were all shaking ,I thought I was going to fall clean out of my treestand .When I got home my wife and kid's were talking about it ,it seem's that we had an earth tremor here and on the new's they said it hit 3.5 to 4.0 on the rictor scale . I've never ever seen anything like it before .
Anyway's i won't be back out till morning and I'm going to put a mock scrape down near a buck rub that we found on the weekend ,I'm also going to setup my stealth cam just to see what's moving around this spot .I'm not going to hunt it till next week ,I might pick up a dripper this weekend and put it up as well ,maybe this might give me a bit of an advantage against this big buck that appear's to be hanging out here ,he's got every other tree all along the bush ripped up and I mean ripped ,and not a chance that he';s just a little guy either .I'm going to invite him to our contest and dinner ,so we'll see what happen's next week .

LMAO------HI JOHN
Hows the hunting going.?
Seeing many scrapes?
I just may have to head up to your place and hunt that big buck with ya
I used that wildlife research #307 last year to good results--going to have to pick up another bottle this week maybe.
Get any pics on your cam yet?
Take care--and good luck to you and the team
